First shared by as a comment in paraneoplastic's expired post. Thought I would create a new thread for anyone who didn't see it.

Basically ask a question about the new GoPro over the live chat. You do not need to ask for the code within the chat (I didn't) but some people did. The one time use coupon was then emailed to the email address I used to start the chat, after about 5 mins. Really good price for a brand new model. Note: the free 32GB SD card is not included when you use the coupon. Free shipping is though. Enjoy!

    I got one yesterday - I asked about ability to use older mounts etc with new black. They asked for my existing serial no. Which I didn’t have access to (I could have given it if I was home) and then they gave me the code anyway after a few more questions. I got the impression they’ve been asked to verify if the chat person is an existing GoPro user by asking a few more probing questions.

    Has anyone who ordered yesterday received shipping notification? My order is still 'Pending' with chat agents saying billing approval can get held up when lots of orders. Need to wait for Gopro billing approval before dispatch. (Charge hit my credit card straight away)

      It all seems a bit slower than claimed, I ordered 8.40am Monday with Shipping Express Service | 2-3 Days… It was shipped 1pm Tuesday.. and it's due for delivery by end of business next Monday.. So it looks like their 2-3 days = 7+days… Oh well..

    Anyone know whether you'd get charged international conversion fees using a normal debit card? Apparently it's charged in aud if you select the au store, but some sites still charge that fee in this scenario.

    Could pay with PayPal but would rather use the credit card.

      It seems the payment is processed in the Netherlands.. I paid with Paypal with a CBA Visa card, I got stung a ~$13 international transaction fee..

        Damn.. Are you sure that was the international fee and not the card fee? If you fund a PayPal transaction with a card rather than account number, you pay around a 3.5% fee.

          Yeh, it's a CBA thing with their visa cards, not sure about other banks.. (It's an international transaction fee, not a conversion/exchange fee, Gopro charge in AUD)

          I rarely use this card and Paypal for overseas purchases so it completely slipped my mind… Thankfully Cashrewards was $15 so that kinda covers it, lol

            Didnt you get charged with the PayPal fee as well though? Usually when you pay using card, they make you pay a fee. Not sure if that's only with fnf.

            And cashrewards, not sure if the cashback would work if you used the code. But for your sake, hope so :).

              @Bargainbeth: There's no other Paypal fees, and their terrible exchange rate doesn't come into it because it's charged in AUD..

              Cashrewards has tracked it and it comes up as a $15.23 reward…

          It'll show up in their bank/card statements the same as when you pay in a foreign currency. Amex does not charge this fee AFAIK.

      Nope, still works. Just got mine.
      First chat with a guy, nothing. Second chat just asked 2 simple questions and then closed the chat window when the conversation stalled.
      Got the email 30 minutes later.

      She did ask for my serial number which I gave and the email does say "loyal customer" so punt for that angle like everyone says.

    I tried just now and had a reasonably long chat with a nice rep, asked a few questions about upgrading 2 cameras etc. Rep said there was a trade up promo but is wasn't available in Aus, which I expressed disappointment about. She asked for my email to sign me up to a newsletter but didn't offer any other deal, despite me asking if they do a better price for upgrading 2 cameras. I guess I will wait to see if something shows up in my email this arvo.
