iPhone 4/Samsung Galaxy S II (or Other Handset) with $150 Visa Gift Card

80

I saw this advertised on LinkedIn earlier today. Called through and signed up for the iPhone4 with a $150 Gift Card. I confirmed with the sales agent that you had to have an ABN to be eligible.
The website says it's available on any handset if the whole Apple scene isn't your thing. LOL

  • You should list Samsung galaxy 2 instead of iPhone 4

agreed. Gone are the days of being told what to do by a iOS, Go android!

      Wouldn't attract half the attention.

galaxy S2 is the hottest phone atm whereas Iphone 4 has been around for just over a year. anyway, don't think a lot of people are going to commit to a 24months on the Iphone 4 when Iphone 5 is released in september.

        • -2

I agree, the iPhone 4 will be yesterday's phone, tomorrow. Nevertheless, anything iPhone attracts twice as much the attention as anything else.

        • I updated the title to reflect both handsets. I only listed the iPhone as that's what I ended up purchasing and from what I've seen - telco's are reluctant to offer credits/offers on iPhones.

I was going to wait for iPhone 5, but looking at Apple's history I'm thinking the next phone will be an update rather than a radical change.

Hi Skimeno, I would highly doubt Iphone 5 is just gonna be a update, the market for smartphones is picking up really quickly. if Apple just do a update they will be losing a HUGE amount of market share…they are up against dual core smartphones with 1gb of ram and a general concensus would be that a LOT of people are a little sick of the limitation of the currentiOS ( agree guys?). Having said that, Iphone 5 is gonna be a dual-core,NFC enables, and a bigger screen and possibly a better camera?

        • NFC isn't even used in Australia right now and I can guarantee iphone won't be bigger than the one right now. Probably better camera& resolution will be dual core as well but that will the most exciting features. I would say it may be the iPhone 4S rather than the 5.
But for now it is all speculation

    • Can't use this amazing item with the Samsung galaxy 2: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/49112 lol.

not a bad deal, but beware of Optus online, I've had two phones from them and each time the bill needed chasing up to get what I was promised. At around an hour per call, others might not find it worth it and not bother chasing it up. I persevered, but won't go Optus again. Also, I prefer a mobile network that includes coverage in its plan, so will not choose Optus again for that reason.

I just cancelled my home phone and internet for the same reason. 7 months without a single month's billing being right… it's too bad, because if they could sort their shit out with billing I had no other complaints with them.

Your going to be very, very, very upset if you moved to Telstra then. I can't find a person that HASN'T had massive issues with billing through Telstra at one point or another.

        • Been there, TIO'd that :P

I just called in and ported 3 of my business phones over from Vodaphone, getting 3 Samsung Galaxy S II's. Seriously this is legit, I got $450 in VISA gift cards which I can use on just about anything in my business. There were no restrictions on what handsets this is available on. Agreed, long live Android!

    • Good for you I'd guess:
"Unlimited Voice Calls to GSM Mobiles on the Same Account."

  • well at least you didn't get your order cancelled, cos they wanted to "fraud" protect themselves… Optus are dodgy (not unlike a telcom mind you)

good deal, but expensive for me who can last on a $19 cap!

  • +2

I could be wrong, but doesn't Optus already offer a 3 Month Free Access with the Galaxy S2 for Business consumers? For a $59 plan, this works out to be more than $150.

  • Yes, true keep in mind I can use the VISA gift card on almost anything. The 3 months free is only on the Optus bill. I would rather the flexibility of the VISA card with a slightly smaller amount than the credit on my bill.

    • Hi. I'm not having a go at you, but you need credit or cash to pay off your optus bill so the 3 months free indirectly repays you in cash/credit, and benefit exceeds $150.

  • Can you guys confirm that we can't get both? The $150 visa as well as the 3 months free?

    • I'm fairly certain that you get one or the other. I would personally take the 3 months free.

      • The three months free wasn't available on the iPhone. On the $59 Cap with the iPhone4, this was a better deal than 2 free months.

      • 3 months access would be paid from company money, ie pre tax.

The gift card is post tax money.
