  It says you need the bridge for the full ‘Hue’ experience. Does that mean there is a dumbed down version you can experience when you don’t want their bridge. Could I pair it with a Yeelight perhaps?

    There is a Bluetooth enabled version that doesn't require a bridge.

    Unless you're in an environment where you do not have space for a bridge, ie. Caravan or single room, the bridge is route is better.
