I've been to a lot of the PromoTix events (probably around 30). It's very underrated. As are arts tickets generally.
The Comic's Lounge was not the worst PromoTix event I went to. However it was the second worst one (i.e. number 29). The whole venue is set-up to sell to you (either membership or drinks/foods). The listings are usually big on spin and underdeliver.
My advice: do go see Arts events, do scan PromoTix if you want a bargain (they offer some really great events), do hunt down great comedians and go see their shows, maybe skip The Comic's Lounge event.
