  • do you need to top-up or supply your credit card number to sign up?

    • No. We give you $2 credit to try out the service. You will need your mobile number to sign up though.

  • Points of presence in … Los Angeles

    Do you provide US numbers?

Not right now, but they are coming soon.

  • This is actually a good deal, cheaper than the MyNetFone Whirlpool offer.
Wish they'd let me withdraw my account credit and move over.

Signed up with these guys a few days ago, all going well so far.

  • Can the sign up verification be done via SMS? I’m currently overseas and would rather not pay roaming charges to receive a call.

    • No. Sorry. The deal will still be here when you get back.

      • Thanks, looking forward to signing up in a couple of weeks.

Any fees for porting in a DID number? (Other than the 39c setup)

        • Ports in are $10 setup and $0.39 per month.

        • Cat A Ports are now free (still have the $0.39 setup fee and monthly fee) until 31/01/2020.

          • @Tim Ando: Thanks, but what is a “Cat A” port? My DID number is currently with another VoIP provider.

            • @cynix: Just means a single number that's not part of a number range or if it has a line hunt / Fax duet. If it is just with another Voip provider and a single number then it would be safe to say its a CAT A port :)

  • I’m new to VoIP, what equipment do I need to connect the line? Thanks

An old smartphone is sufficient, if you have WiFi at home.

Take any existing SIM card out of the smartphone, to make sure you aren't mistakenly using the phone's usual calling methods.

Connect the smartphone to your home's WiFi, then download a softphone app from the app store. For Android, "MizuDroid SIP VOIP softphone" looks like a suitable one.

Enter into the app the details that Crazytel will send you. These include SIP server, port, username and password. The app will login, and you'll be able to make and receive calls through the app - similar to using Skype.

If you want a VOIP solution that is easy for anyone in your household to use, you can buy a box called an ATA for under $100, that plugs into your modem/router, and you plug an ordinary corded or cordless phone into the ATA. Then it's just like making a call from a home phone.

      • That’s cool, thanks so much.

  • Can you directly call a sip trunk? Are calls between SIP trunks possible/free?

    • Calls between SIP trunks are possible as long as the accounts are the same type (both residential or both business). They are free, but won't show on the call usage pages.

  • Cannot log back in after creating account, was never told what my username is. Neither account number nor email address works.

    • A welcome email is sent with every successful sign-up with all those details. You may need to check your SPAM folder. If by accident you have entered in an incorrect email address you can contact support :)

  • Is there an Android app that you support our recommend?

Can we have multiple DID numbers with this discount?

Any chance of a discounted NZ or US DID when they become available?

… When does this offer expire? :)

      Hi,

I have used CSipSimple myself and I see a few people with Grandstream Wave on the system.

You can have as many numbers as you can afford.

      No discount on international DIDs.

This offer currently has no expiry date.

      • Thanks. Really appreciate the quick reply

  • Is there an option to setup a direct debit after account has been created?

  • Any chance of some deals on Virtual Mobile Numbers?

    • Unfortunately no, the Virtual Mobile numbers are still somewhat new in Australia and the wholesale cost is quite high.

      • Thanks,
So for the time being I’m better off with Exetel $8/month with unlimited sms/local calls and a cheap mobile over USB.

Any idea when wholesale costs will come down?
