Woah, what's with the Mate 20 Pro price war?

    • I meant POWA :)

Been using the phone for a year. I've ditched my SLR because I love the camera on this phone so much.

Google thanks you for using the internet.

      • Tinfoil hat's a bit tight, Maraco.

I have to back this comment. P20 Pro camera is damn good. Each photo looks like a postcard. Obviously the filters and processing help and some may say the photos look processed (hot tip: because they are!)

      • I didn't find the Huawei camera's that great, that's coming from a Pixel 2XL though

      • Apparently OnePlus 7 Pro and even Xiaomi CC9 Pro is better. heh

        • A quick read of a few reviews shows OnePlus 7 Pro has poor low light performance, that's exactly where the Mate 20 Pro / P20 Pro (same primary sensor) is the strongest, up there with the best mobile phone cameras along with of course the Huawei 30 series phones, galaxy note 10, pixel 3, latest flagship iPhone and so forth.

However the Xiaomi CC9 Pro sounds interesting, right up there, great bit of hardware too, but no doubt higher price point than the Huawei 20 series phones.

Damn, was about to post Sydney Mobile eBay's Mate 20 Pro for $626. This is even cheaper!

    • +2

Keep an eye out for $599

      • Yea, i would assume $600 minus price will be coming up soon.
I heard the price is still $800+ in China.

(Took the midnight blue one from this deal tho)

You can post it now, since this is out of stock.

  • How cheap will this phone go. Spewing I bought it from JBHiFi on the original offer yesterday.

  • damn, bought it too early :(

  • +1

did I just buy this one too early……just canceled my Amazon order I literally just placed

  • This or LG V40 128GB or Samsung Galaxy Note 9 128GB?

    • if i were to choose, i go with the one that has better community/XDA support.

      cheers.

      • That doesn't really matter to me. I can't be bothered going through all of that via xda and lineage os.

    • Camera wise Mate 20 pro, otherwise I would pick Note 9 as an overall better phone.

If you want LG better wait a little bit more till they drop to sub $500

Is it just me or is anyone else uncomfortable buying a new phone this close to Black Friday sales….

    • you maybe onto something mate!

    • 100% with this comment. I am very very tempted but am going to hold out till Black Friday sales. could be wrong but thats the risk

  • This or the new Xiaomi Note 10 Pro? Feels like I'm always waiting for a better price, and the possibility of a Pocophone f1 successor to come out has me paralysed. I really need to replace my Nexus 6P

    • Can't believe it's still working. I went through two Nexus (warranty) in 24 months 3 years ago.

    • I changed from Nexus 6P to the mate 20 pro about half a year ago. pretty decent bump in everything especially battery life. I even swapped 6P's battery when it started to shut down at 40% but it was still bogged down by software issues so I had to let it go. Felt like huge improvements over everything despite all the Huawei sentiments.

gone are the days when i sold a new Mate 20 non pro-version for $850 11 month ago.

    • Yeah now even 400 people still demanding cheaper.

    • Same hehe

  • Looking forward for Xiaomi Mi CC9 pro.

  • fyi, 7 in black and 4 in midnight blue were available at this price

  • How's this stack up to an a70? I know the a70 is newer but price wise pretty similar. I got my a70 through the partnership program so I can probably almost make my money back. Just dunno if it's worth it essentially going to an older phone lol

    • They're quite different phones. A slightly older flagship vs a newer midrange phone.
The mate is almost undoubtedly the better phone in most aspects, but if you prefer a (only in my opinion) stupidly big screen, stick with the a70.

  • anyone getting this
