[eBay Plus] 15% off Eligible Tech Items (No Min Spend, Max Discount $500) @ eBay

1054
POWA15

Enjoy :)

Landing page updated : Thanks to Dealbot

Update : I guess this will start at 10AM as usual ebay promos so I add direct links to eligible items as soon as I find it

I don’t have the list of eligible items .. just only code and terms page so it may be difficult to find the eligible ones. If i spot any I will add it here

TnC

The offer entitles you to 15% off the purchase price (excluding postage costs) on all Eligible Items listed on www.ebay.com.au, up to a maximum discount of $500 per transaction. Multiple items may be purchased in eight transactions (up to a maximum of 10 items per transaction). All monetary amounts specified in these terms and conditions are in Australian dollars (AUD).
‘Eligible Items’ means all items listed on eBay.com.au where these terms and conditions are found and the coupon redemption code POWA15 is displayed in the item listing.

Mod: This code appears to be a substitute for last month's PLAYNOW deal.

Mod Update 2: Code has been replaced with POW15, and no longer eBay Plus exclusive.

  • +1

I dont think it is sitewide…i tried to apply code on Computer Alliance and it said code error…

    • +1

I think we're all waiting for a Comp Alliance code :P - Need that new PC!

      • +14

Sadly CA has invited Jack to their team lately

        • Am also waiting for CA to put out a 20%!

          • +2

@LurvinOZB: You’re better off with 15%, jack comes around less when it happens.

            • @ATangk: fingers crossed CA is one of the mystery vendors in this round

        • +2

One of the only reasons they were popular and now they just wanna be futu v2

Won't be buying from them again

          • @i7-2600k:

One of the only reasons they were popular and now they just wanna be futu v2

I did find not every items jacked like I bought some Samsung SSD was cheaper even before discount.

Eligible Items’ means all items listed on eBay.com.au where these terms and conditions are found and the coupon redemption code POWA15 is displayed in the item listing.

    Also known as crap. Again.

  • Eligible Items normally means only the items listed on that page.

    • +5

"Items already priced to take the 15% off into consideration."

  • Which listing did you find this on BA? Might give a better indication of what's included.

    • Couldn't find any eligible items either. Items normally part of the 10% off sale, aren't eligible.

    • Just got to know about the code so shared it.. terms page didn’t had more info. I will add few links when I find some :)
I guess this will start at 10AM.

      • +7

        eBay plus only, makes the Xbox One X + COD:MW + FH4 $412.21 :)

        • Awesome 👍🏻
I am still trying to find landing page where I can see all items :)

        • hmm… tempting…. this or black friday.. this or black friday.

  • Does anyone find one item which could apply this code ? All my watched items are negative !

  • Starts 10am aet?

  • Can we expect a sitewide code anytime soon?

  • +1

The sitewide offer seem to be gone and be replaced with these “eligible items” and “selective store” code. Meanwhile, they offer sitewide in the other country

  • +32

This isn't a bargain. Hidden terms, unknown products, mystery discount, as usual eBay are a joke

      • +15

Actually, he does have a point. There's so much mystery shrouding the ebay codes these days to the point it's nearly unusable. For a starter, they don't tell you what the code could be used on, which leaves you scratching your head.

Imagine this scenario in a physical store as an example. Myer says there's 50% off on selected items, but they won't tell you which ones those are and will turn you down for anything that you take to the checkout counter because "these items aren't discounted". And we won't tell you which ones are discounted either.

I haven't been bothering with mystery ebay codes like this one for a while now. It's just a waste of time.

        • I like that analogy. Gone are the glory days of the site wide coupons. Didn't know what we had till it was gone.

          • +1

            @Shaun Prawn:

Gone are the glory days of the site wide coupons. Didn't know what we had till it was gone.

Exactly. It was good while it lasted, but I suppose everything comes to an end, good or bad.

            • @CocaKoala: I just can't help but feel a bit cheated, because other countries still get the proper site wide deals, which I personally can't be bothered with making new accounts and such to take advantage of them.

But also, the deals we get now are so misleading and are in blatant violation of Australian consumer law, yet they are free to keep operating in this manner. EBay is not the only one, but they are definitely one of the bigger offenders in my opinion.

Although, here is a bit hope for us in this article:

              https://www.accc.gov.au/media-release/kogan-in-court-for-all…

Fingers crossed that more retailers are reprimanded for this behaviour in the near future.

              • +2

@Shaun Prawn: Fully agreed with you there. Kogan has been one of the worst repeat offenders. I hope they get heavily penalised for having utter disregard for our laws. Same with ebay. But the ACCC is a toothless bunch for the large part, so there's that.

      • +1

Most people come here to find bargains, not post them. What's with people expecting others to create content for this website for free?

    • +3

This. I'm not quite sure why we get """special""" treatment compared to other markets.

These codes may as well come under "competitions" because it's about as likely that you'll find something eligible.

      • some people expect & whinge to much, when eBay dont offer codes everyone whinges no codes available, when they do release a code everyone whinges not available on everything, look at amazon never release codes, have half the items then ebay, majority time only discount when a competitor is discounted, expectations are way to high on ozbargain at times

        • +2

I don't expect anything from eBay aside from the "usual" sales, i.e. Christmas etc.
It's just getting increasingly frustrating having to deal with the jacking, the "eligible" items, etc etc.
Just to twist the knife further the other countries get genuine site-wide discounts.

          • -1

@OZBMate8911: jacking is annoying but in reality apart from some that abuse it to make a bigger profit it comes down to the retailer simply doesn't have the margin especially with A$ atm & ebay only cover 9% of the 20%, where as this 15% off or other 10% off is likely just covered by eBay when it doesn't mention any stores, just take it as it comes some way over expect

        • +1

Ebay makes this harder than it needs to be. I think some expression of dissatisfaction is warranted.

    • +1

ebay AUSTRALIA is a joke because they know we have nowhere else to buy things at a bargain price! Especially after the 10% overseas sellers GST apply to all sales (sometimes when I see things from US, the "other charges" are between 10%-20% which I cannot figure it out why not 10% only. Since then, ebay stop pretty much all sitewide 15% off and raise the minimum spent and exclusion etc and they don't see Amazon AU is anywhere affecting them materially.

  • do we gfet ebay cashback if pay via ebay giftcard?

    • it's fine to use gift card but cashback will be voided if coupon is used. oh and you can't earn Qantas FF points for purchases with cashback

      • any cahsback over 1% is better than the qff as it equates to that value

    • Yes, but not if you use a code (like the one in this deal).

  • +1

Any way we can search for items that are eligible for this code?

    • +1

unfortunately no, they want us to guess and check

  • +7

eBay, if you're reading this, the people want 15% off sitewide!!!!!

    • If you're asking you might as well push for 20, 25 or even 50%!

      • that's unrealistic, only in your sweet sweet dreams

        • -2

Yeah, its MY post that's unrealistic.
Not the post that thinks Ebay sets its discounts based on chat posts on Ozbargain.

  • Is there a chance this just hasn't started yet?

    • Yes.. lets wait for 10AM

      • Not my time the morning , have been trying to apply early .

  • won't even attempt typing this code …

  • -6

Can these be moved to forums. Usually when you go to buy something on eBay, it tells you about the code.

  • Any deals for Xiaomi M365 scooter?

  • +1

looks like this is a substitute for PLAYNOW

    • +1

looks like it's video games category only?

    • Thanks mate.. added :)

  • +2

Not much of a deal even after 15% off, as The Gamesmen base price are usually higher than RRP (which according to them, is due to incorporating the cost of shipping in the price)

  • The gleam on eBay sales have well and truly worn off. They're like Myer right now.

  • +1

Neg for no discernable way to search for applicable items. I'm not going to browse willy-nilly in the hope that maybe I'll stumble upon a valid item.

    • +1

or you can just click the main link & see it has all the eligible items included

      • +1

I don't think the link pointed to the list originally - it was just 15% off eligible tech with no item listings.

Still pretty mediocre - I don't think it's possible to search and I'm not going to tap through 41 pages of items to find if what I want is on sale.

  • I don't have an ebay plus account
Could someone please kindly help me to check if the code works on shopping-express-clearance? thanks
    http://www.ebaystores.com.au/Shopping-Express-Outlet/Network…

    • +1

      Doesn't work.

      • Thanks!
        hate ebay…

  • +3

WTF is up with the Gamesmen? Even with 15% off AND 5% cashback they are higher than JB standard price. Which is bad, as JB aren't cheap.

    Eg:
    Astral Chain
    The witcher
    Fire emblem

    .. all piss poor pricing.

    • +1

5% cashback wouldn't happen anyway because of the use of the code. Even worse!

  • Works with iPad Pro
    http://www.ebaystores.com.au/Wireless1-eshop/_i.html?rt=nc&_…
(use POWA15, not PLAYNOW as the graphic on their store states)

    • This is significantly cheaper than RRP, is that odd?

  • any bargains on iphone 11s? preferably under $5000.00

  • inflated prices, none are lower than using Amazon Prime.

    • So Amazon is giving more than 15% discount on the 2019 iPad Air?

    • inflated prices, none are lower than using Amazon Prime

the lies are strong with this one

  • -2

Lets keep the neg train rolling for Ebay's 'eligible items' deals.

  • Is it bad practice for sellers to mark up their prices on eBay compared to their own online stores? I message wireless1 regarding an RTX 2080ti and this was the response I got

Me - "Just wondering why the price of this video card is $2,119 when the exact some one your wireless1 online shop is $1,949. Seems like a bit of a price jack on eBay?"

wireless1 - "If you purchase from ebay, there is a 15% ebay discount code - POWA15 for ebay plus member. You will end up paying $1,801.15, which is even cheaper than our online store.
If you are not an ebay plus member, simply join for free and you will get a 30-day free trial period, so you can take advantage of the promotion. After the trial period, you will pay just $49 annually. If you decide it's not for you, you can cancel it at any time."

  • bought a new razer blade 15 from wireless 1, $500 off and it’s already $300 lower than RRP

    https://www.ebay.com.au/p/2306096695

  • How can anyone find the eligible items with a particular code?

    • You can't. The 'eligible items' have been price-jacked anyway, so might as well just forget this 'bargain'.
