      USB3.1 GEN 2 = USB3.2 = 10GBPS
      $29 was for launch special which is under cost not due to FX lower.
      Market price for this model is $49 - $59

    It just seems a bit spendy for an enclosure. Aluminium is very nice, but I've bought sata usb3 enclosures for 12 bucks in the past. This is more than the hdd I'm planning to put in it…

      This is not a SATA USB3 enclosure though. This is a USB3.1 Gen 2 enclosure with what amounts to a PCIe bridge to the NVMe SSD - it's capable of much higher speeds than any SATA-USB3 enclosure.

      Orico has some transparent plastic enclosures with a heat sink on one side, but an all aluminium casing is probably better for heat dissipation - these m.2 drives do get quite hot during data transfer.

        Yeah, I'm aware the tech is different. Just enclosures are generally some kind of physical case and a small io board…

        Dont get me wrong, I'm sure this does a great job, with very fast throughput. Theres a few on fleabay for 17 dollars, but 3.1 rather than 3.2. A different thing.

        This probably well worth the price of admission, guess that I personally would be looking to save a bit more to mount an hdd. That they had sold 4 in 24 hours suggests others are holding off too.

      I have received mine and it gets extremely hot after few minutes and the speed drops dramatically when that happens. Does it happen to anyone else?
