Don't worry I'm still here! Suewen is an actual GeekBuying employee :)

    • @clear rep, can you do something with LTE model? Maybe even 10"?

      • I've asked GeekBuying and awaiting a decision.

  • I bought xiaomi mi pad 2. I was burnt badly because the software was so crap. Whilst I hear that things have improved, I just can't trust xiaomi ever again! I'm waiting for the Samsung budget tablets released recently.

Fortunately for the Mi Pad 4 they have a large development community at xda, Xiaomi EU and the MIUI forums with dozens of different ROMs for those who don't like MIUI. HavocOS is a very popular ROM as it offers the Pixel experience on a tablet.

    • I'd suggest looking at the Lenovo offerings.

Need to replace my old Nexus 7, very tempted to pull the trigger on this.

    • I replaced by Nexus 7 with this and I'm reasonably happy after installing custom firmware.

      • I too am looking to replace my Nexus 7.does this come with wireless charging?

      • which rom / firmware did you use? I just picked one up to replace my Nexus 7 2012!

@clear rep, can you do something with LTE model? Maybe even 10"?

  • Ya, rep, I'm also interested in Mi Pad 4 plus 10.1. Any special offer?

I lol everytime I hear you Aussies use the word spunk in this context, but to call something a "Spunky Beat" is just too hilariously mastabatory. :)

  • Nearly picked this up from Geek buying yesterday at $286 after cash back ect, this is much better! All time low on OzB I think

  • I got an email from them asking for photo ID and a picture of my credit card, is this normal?

    • +1

Usually happens when a credit card is used outside of PayPal. Send me a PM with your order number and I'll sort it out.

      • Pm'ed. Cheers buddy.

  • Just tried to use the code for the Spunky Beat and it's only bringing the item down to $24.99 USD instead of $19.99 USD. Has the code changed?

    • hi, we are really sorry, the activity of Spunky Beat has ended, but the price will come back during the Black Friday

  • Any news on the lte version of the mi pad?
Also are purchases from geekbuying eliable for TRS refund?

    • LTE still a work in progress.

You don't pay GST at GeekBuying so TRS isn't applicable.

Geekbuying has just gone up in m rankings :D

So just feed feedback for future buyers, I received the tablet yesterday which was 11 days from the time of order till it was delivered, I paid $10 extra for faster delivery, the box was opened, when I started it I noticed that the bootloader was unlocked already, so this was a Chinese model, The Tablet looked brand new.

the seller unlocked the bootloader and flashed Global rom, after I tested the tablet I got rid of Miui and installed Pixel experience rom, the kids are very happy with the tablet, Can't believe how cheap the are now,

this replaced an LG 8.3 that finally died after 4.5 of hard service.

    • Does unlocking the bootloader break warranty?

      • to be honest I am not sure, it came unlocked, I took a video of the unboxing just in case if the tablet is faulty.
the tablet was new, the only reason the box was open was to unlock the bootloader and load the Miui Global Rom.

        • +1

It won't be an issue. Xiaomi never released a Global Version of their Mi Pad 4, but their translation team who are outsourced to Xiaomi.eu translated the Chinese ROM. That's now the defacto global ROM.

          • @Clear: Very happy with the purchase thank you, I can't believe how good the tablet is running. Thank you for posting the deal.

            • @[Deactivated]: You can thank Suewen for posting 😉 Glad you're enjoying it!
