Works well with BlueIris, USB powered, comes with USB power supply.
Has a low frame rate, support just claim it’s a variable frame rate.
    Works quite well otherwise.

  • As a good dog camera ,you can tell to stop your dog get away from chicken on desk when you are at office.

    Bad chicken!

  • I would get one with smart tracking function nowadays.

  • Looks like a good price but, the one I got in August(via amazon for $55) died on me in one month. Got a full refund from genbolt support.(the support guys were really good and understood that the unit was dead after some troubleshooting)
I wouldn't buy this again as the setup is unnecessary complex for what it is.(initial setup via LAN cable + the app could be better). The picture quality was good enough for me.

I got a xiaomi 360 for a bit more and am happy so far. Setup was very simple and the interface via the xiaomi app is better and can do some automation along with my other xiaomi smart home products (door sensors, motion sensors)

    • Big problem with the Xiaomi and most others is the simplified setup is the killer as they are app only driven. The one's I have researched have no ONVIF compatibility, no RTSP, no inbuilt admin interface etc which makes them useless for proper CCTV/NVR recording. Can someone confirm if the 360 or any others have those features?

I have had a couple of these Genbolt's for 6+ months mounted outside under eaves and they are still going strong. Great for use with Blue Iris/iSpy/IP Cam Viewer etc. Framerate when viewing from a mobile device is largely dependant on camera's connection and stream resolution. For better frame rate use the secondary stream which preferences frame rate over resolution.

PS - Smart tracking and other advanced features can be done via NVR software as these cams are ONVIF compliant for those that don't want to record to the camera's SD card (footage goes with the camera if stolen) or the cloud ($$).

      • My requirements on this time was to simply get a video feed to my mobile as soon and as painlessly as possible. So the 360 was enough for me.
I have hacked the xiaofang camera from xiaomi to get a RTSP feed working locally (https://github.com/samtap/fang-hacks). It's still very reliable 2 years on. Haven't seen anyone do it for the newer mi camera models yet.

        • Yeah I know about the xiaofang hack but it isn't pan and tilt. Don't see why they can't have RTSP on all these camera's as standard. Trying to lock people into proprietary stuff and charge for cloud storage etc. Hopefully the 360 and others get hacked to make them better and maybe give some incentive for the manufacturer to supply it standard.
