Any idea if this advice applies to upgrade versions as well e.g. traktor pro 3?
Unsure re: tractor, but if you search their website, anything they sell that NI also sells will generally be cheaper
In future, what's the cheapest way to get an "update? Buy an old version off someone? Thanks
Generally the cheapest is:
1) Get free Kontakt library which is eligible to crossgrade to Kontakt full
2) Upgrade Kontakt to Komplete when that is on sale: eg https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/310757Current method:
1) Get Embertone Arcane for free.
2) Register it with Native Access from Native Instruments.
3) Get the upgrade for Kontakt from Arcane when on sale.
4) Crossgrade from Kontakt to Komplete when on sale.Try buy and sell forums on places such as KVR audio or gearslutz.
As always with these sales, cheaper to buy from EU resellers who remove VAT eg:
