Recent expired deals include for AU$42.46 and for AU$46.49.

This deal is only for the Global version with Baby monitor function model. See full product description on Banggood. There is also an International version that does not have the Baby monitor function. Note: There are also Chinese versions of these two models being sold for example on AliExpress and Joybuy which unfortunately no longer works in Australia and displays the error "Sorry this device is not supported in this area". To add to all the confusion, they all share the same model number CMSXJ16A. If you have bought the Chinese version and updated the firmware and it is no longer working, you will need to revert back to version 16.3.4.5 to remove the geo lock.

The good features of this camera model over other brands and even other XiaoMi models (of which there are now so many variants) are:

  • Most XiaoMi products spoken instructions are in Chinese/Mandarin. This global version of the product actually speaks in proper English so the instructions are clear (not sure if the spoken language can be changed to Mandarin)
  • Compression is H.265 over H.264 and other codecs like mjpeg. Uses less bandwidth and image quality is better
  • Free 7 day cloud storage (no need for subscription fees at the moment) as well as local microSD card 64GB and NAS storage (requires a Xiaomi brand router with USB storage) if you prefer privacy. The plus with cloud and NAS storage is even if someone steals your camera together with the microSD card, at least you got a video record of the culprit.
  • AI humanoid motion detection which ignores sudden background light changes or moving tree branches.
  • Pan and tilt functions (360° horizontal x 100° vertical views) allows you to easily adjust the monitoring area remotely especially if is placed in a high location.
  • Bi-direction audio chat function
  • Uses the standard Mi Home app and all its automation features to link with the rest of your XiaoMi products.

If only the camera is weatherproofed for outdoor use. If you do want to use it outdoors, take care to place it under a well-sheltered location away from the rain. My own personal experience with other such devices is after two years, the on-board PCB will fail due to the harsh outdoor environment if it is not designed for outdoor use (main cause is moisture corrosion).

My last order from the recent 11-11 sale took about 7 days to arrive after shipment using AU Direct Mail. I didn't pay for the optional extra shipping insurance cost as the item can be tracked in case of any dispute regarding delivery.

  • That's a really long coupon code.

    • Not really a coupon code. You need to reserve the item to get it at the special price.

      • Please leave this field blank if not required.

        • The catch is it must be reserved before the "sale" starts. So if I leave it blank, then some people may not be aware of the pre-requisite.

          • @k0ka2: Just put an expiry for before the sale.

            • @askbargain: Should be okay to have the coupon code blank as I indicated it in the first line of the description anyway.

  • No Google assistant integration?

    • No. Only works with the Mi Home app and no known hacks to make it work with other apps.

How does this compare to the Mi 360 available on eBay for around $55?

    • +1

The IR LEDs on this Global model are visible at night (red tinge) but not on the Mi 360. The IR range is 9m versus 10m on the Mi 360. The Mi 360 model is also available from Banggood but at a higher price.

      • Thanks!

  • Seems my BG is configured for AU$ and it says the price will be AU$35.77 … is your conversion correct?

    • GST and delivery costs are included in the AU$ delivered amount.

  • Any recommendation on outdoor/waterproof camera? Xiaomi version on the same site is $132.

  • Any issues with this being blocked?

    • No. This is a "global" English spoken version with a manual in English.

  • This or xiaofang?
    Thinking to upgrade mine.

    • The XiaoFang discounted price is currently around US$20 so I would think this global model may be a better buy. It includes free unlimited "7-day overwriting cloud storage" which normally costs around CNY129/year (around AU$27). Also it uses H.265 video coding so remote viewing is smoother and clearer. And there is more … (like pan/tilt, AI, baby monitor, etc). The pluses with the XiaoFang are you can actually connect directly to the camera wifi without going through the internet (for those who are paranoid) and various "hacks" are available.

  • This or wyzecam?
The cloud storage for xiaomi means sharing your data with the ccp…

  • How do we reserve the item? I clicked ""Reserve first to get Black Friday bottom price" it directs me to the generic Black Friday page. Or has it been fully reserved? Or am I supposed to add to cart?

Once reserved, I must still click buy it during the black friday period to confirm purchase?

    • Login first, and once 'reserved' those products will show at the top of the Black Friday Crazy Sale page.

  • Bought it at US$26

  • Ordered @ USD 26.39 delivered.

  • Grabbed one with the free shipping option. Thanks OP.

  • I suspect not a ONVIF camera?

  • No. The international version of the Xiaovv model which uses the V380 app is.

  • Does anyone have a spare code please?

    • There is no code. The offer is linked to your account when you make the reservation. I suggest checking again nearing the end of the deal. BG have reduced prices before if the offer is not taken up fully. Cuurently still over a hundred units available. There is also free shipping with this deal.
