Awesome deal IMO for such a powerhouse console if you have a 4K tv (even 1080p tvs you will notice a big difference) you honestly won't want to go back to using any other Xbox this is crazy good for 4K gaming, combine this with Game Pass and you're set for a long time won't need to buy any more games for a while.

Mod Note: Xbox One X + Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order Deluxe Bundle now available.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2019

  • Very nice.

Also see PS4 1TB Pro for $389.00 in there.

(not as good as the BigW one, but still decent)

I wonder what the trade in value of Star Wars Fallen Jedi from the xbox bundle. Could be a way to get a cheaper console only.

    • Do note that both games in this deal are download codes only, meaning they can’t be traded in at EB Games and the like.

    • Wouldn't be able to trade it in, however you could definitely sell it for about $50.

    • You'll still need to break the $500 threshold for the AMEX refund, so get some accessories or games at the same time too?

      • Or buy the digital games online through microsoft account. Claim Cashrewards too. Can be on multiple purchases that add up to $500

        • Can confirm this works; bought a one X in June in store for $499 + bought a $2 game online to trigger the $500 amex offer

End price was $401 for a one x with FH4 and Forza 7

          • @blonky: Sorry, no

Yes only after you register for the amex cash back, once the trigger to $501 is complete. You should get a sms and email confirming the amex cash credit back immediately. If you don’t get that notification. That means that something wasn’t qualifying the purchase terms

            • @chunfat: Sorry I don't understand; I'm saying I did this in June and worked fine

  • Is this a good price for an Xbox? I have no clue and would appreciate if anyone could kindly explain a few things and answer my questions below, thanks.

My brother is keen to buy one for my nephews (<10) and I told him to wait until Black Friday to see if there are any deals. They're both big fans of Star Wars so this would be tempting. As far as I know, both my brother and nephews would be using the Xbox (playing games, watching movies, streaming YouTube/Netflix, etc). I did a quick google and it looks like there's a new Xbox releasing in 2020: no rush to get that one.

How does this compare (in price, value, contents in bundle, bang for your buck, etc) with the Xbox All access bundle thing from Telstra? I don't know anything about video games or what is a good price to buy the hardware at, but I saw the Xbox Telstra ad on tv and thought it seemed ok. But the bundle from Telstra includes something called Xbox game pass? Is that any good? Are we able to buy that separately for cheaper and at what price?

    • Excellent price imo.

Make sure you buy digital version of the games online through microsoft online. They have weekly sales via “Deals with Gold”. https://www.xbox.com/en-au/live/gold?xr=shellnav#dealswithgo…

With the digital version. You can play anywhere. As long as you have internet access. You can have up to two xbox’es logged in at the same time to play on one licence of the games you own. My two sons play on there own respective Xbox. They login to the xbox with my account with the game licences. My login stays active in the background (just for the game licencs), then they login with their own login to play and save their own playing profile.

Or you can join the GOLD/ULTIMATE membership if you plan to buy a lot of games. With those membership, you get another 10% extra discount on the digital weekly sales games.

Currently, there is a BLACK FRIDAY SALES. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/498650

This type of huge sale occurs three times a year. Black Friday(Black Friday sales), christmas/new year (ultimate game sales), july (ultimate game sales).

I currently have over 200 games, of which is mostly purchased at 50-90% off during those weekly sales events. I normally use majornelson.com to search for the weekly “deals with Gold” sales. Because they table the sales with a sorting feature for %discount

      • I appreciate the detailed response, thanks. I'll pass all this along to my brother, thanks. :)

Is there a big difference between all the Xbox hardware? There's 3 different skus in the catalogue: Xbox one s, Xbox one x and Xbox one all digital edition. Does it matter which one he buys? I'm assuming because the Xbox one x is more expensive it's better?

        • +1

For young kids an S will be fine

        • +1

I've had an original XBOX One since the beginning and am only looking to finally upgrade to the X model due to buying a 4k tv recently. If they won't be playing on a 4k tv just go the S. I believe the S still upscales to 4k but the X plays it natively.

          • +1

@Batapotamus: The Xbox One S can play 4K video only. Not 4K gaming.

    • +1

I prefer to buy the machine outright on BLACK FRIDAY SALES. Currently good upcoming sale is https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/498842.

For me, the difference on xbox one X or S or S Digital is up to personal budget preferences. If you want to buy two xboxes, like myself, then buy one “S digital version, and one S or X (depending if you really when the 4K games capabilities on X.)

Note: you can get two xbox one S digital for less than one xbox one X. You’ll end up to two controllers instead of one. Normal price for one wireless controller is ~$99 ( or ~$60 when highly discounted )

      • I appreciate the reply. I think he just wants 1 Xbox, at least for now however having an extra controller would be useful (I'll suggest buying 2 Xbox one all digital xboxes). He doesn't have Amex.

Is there a big difference between the 3 different Xbox versions; Xbox one s, Xbox one all digital edition and the Xbox one x? I assume the Xbox one x is better because of the higher price tag?

        • +1

S digital is same as S (without a BLUE RAY disk slot) so cannot watch blue ray disc at upscaled 4K movies.

The X version has better graphics capabilities that is the top of console class at the moment. With 6 T flops processing rate. Can also play at 4K for games with 4K functionality. (Not many games with this 4K capabilities at the moment)

I rather wait for xbox scarlett (pending sep 2020 release) this is a next generation xbox, like a move from xbox 360 to xbox One. So project scarlett is essentially xbox two.

Xbox one is the only console with backward compatibility gaming that can play most xbox 360 games. I will assume project scarlett will be able to play xbox one games. So you won’t have to rebuild you games collection again! (For the next generation console)

        • I would NOT get a digital-only version. There's no CD slot at all, which means all games are downloaded onto the hard drive. Don't get this, please. The $60 or whatever saving is not worth it.

          • +1

@pistachio1: That doesn't make much sense, games are downloaded to the HD anyway. You just cannot start it without the disc inserted.
If you are 100% sure you will never buy game discs or use it to watch movies etc, it's worth the savings IMO.

            • +1

@Arcticfox: I think what moneymoo is trying to say is that the digital-only version cannot play disc based game. Digital version of games are almost always more expensive than their disc counterpart and you can always buy secondhand or sell/trade your disc based games. It provides more flexibility and more cost savings down the track when compared to going digital only.

              • @Siuto: That's exactly what I meant. Thanks for helping me clarify.

            • @Arcticfox: There is one downside to digital games. But i am ok with this risk of the game disappearing due to expired licence by date or by removal by the developer.

Bit disappointed. Was cheaper on eBay a couple of weeks ago with both forza and modern warfare - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/493470

Hopefully some better deals coming on Friday.

  • Thankyou! This is the type of deal I've been waiting for!

  • Better deal would be Xbox one s at $200 not the all digital edition crap, Sold my X a while ago as Ps4 pro is fine for now with my PC for gamepass but I want the s for my other room to play uhd movies

I would still shop around as well because I'm after the Logitech g560 and jbhifi have it 30 percent off which will make it $210 yet I can get it for $180 now and jbhifi have had it cheaper than that before so I would take everything with a grain of salt and check previous prices through Oz bargain.

  • +1

Now to decide. Do I grab this or the Big W PS4 pro…

    • If you don’t have any commitment to either platform I would go Playstation route, Sony is really leading the market and although Microsoft is going to put more effort in next gen. everything I have seen and heard so far makes me believe Microsoft just wants to keep up with Sony not innovate or lead

Once you buy into an ecosystem it’s hard to get out so take some time to think about it

      • Start with the obvious stuff like do you want to play 4K content? if So, Xbox for you.
Want VR? then PS4 it is.
Exclusive games on each platform? Love Halo? Love Last of Us more?
        etc
        etc
Make a list and check off what you cannot live without and you will have an answer.

  • XBox newbie here. Can anyone please confoirm that the $279 XBox 1 S bundle in that catalogue is the non-digital version of the console and has a disc slot? Many thanks in advance!

    • +2

It is the disc slot version. (Digital version always has the “digital” in the name of the xbox)

      • Thanks mate!

  • Is the Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order token for the deluxe edition or just the regular edition?

    • I'd like to know this too. Are there different versions of the game? What's the difference?

      • +2

Turns out it's the deluxe edition

        To answer your questions:

There are two versions of the game for sale:
        -The regular edition
        -The deluxe edition

The regular edition just comes with the base game.
The deluxe edition comes with the base game, a digital art book, various behind the scenes content, Crimson BD-1 Droid Skin and a Crimson Mantis Skin.

So nothing that significantly changes the game.
