  • Can't see in the terms whether you can only have 1 lot of 2000 points or not?? What do you think? If i bought $300 worth of cards, would I get 12,000 points which is $60 woolworths credit?

    • At most I'd see it being 2k per type, however I personally believe it'll be a max of 2k only.

    • normally only once per reward account

      • +6

        Incorrect.

      • +4

        thats flybuys…

    • +3

I believe it's 10 cards, the same offer last time didn't have a max of 1 card. Other WWR points offers have been 10 cards max also from what I understand, Coles are usually the ones who enforce a 1 card max.

Hehe not if on catalogue no flybuys required

      • +2

It's 10 cards per transaction. You can purchase as many times as you want.

      • +2

If you are going to buy 10 cards (of $50) on the spot, I assume the best way to handle it is to buy them one at a time in order to trigger the WW $10 credit instantly on next Play card you scan.
So effectively you will pay $50+40+40…+40 and end up only shelling out $410 for $500 worth of cards. I certainly prefer the instant discount over having WW credit sitting in the card for next time.

Please report if you successfullly redeem the w-rewards dollars on Google Play giftcards purchase.

          • +1

@Neoika: I just got the restaurant card it was instant the points. However the Google Play ones, I don't have the rewards yet. I was told it takes it can take up to 48 hours to appear. Interested to hear other people's experience. This is my first attempt. I was told I can call a number if it did not appear or any issues.

            • @Laoma42: Bonus pts are for set value cards only. Read more comments here.

              • @Neoika: Yes it was the right denomination ie I purchased two $50 Google Play cards.

            • @Laoma42: Mine was instant

              • +3

@kerfuffle: Thank you I found what the issue was. The restaurant card was the wrong one. Therefore the google play ones were instant (I thought it was the restaurant card's point). I got the 4000 points of two cards.

So be aware , I purchased the 100 dollar Australia's number 1 Restaurant Gift card, rather than Australia's favourite restaurant one (Best Restaurants Gift Card). The woolworth service person saw the card and said it would take time to get the points without realising it too it was the wrong one.

Understand it is busy in supermarkets. My issue here. I can't blame the staff.

        • +2

I tried this and it does not work. Presumably points can’t be used gift cards

          • @Tdsr: Yes I have also done this and the system will not allow it but can just use them on groceries and petrol.

    • +6

Nope you will get all the points, I bought $3500 ultimate home gift cards this week and earned 70000 points. You can buy as much cards as you want

      • Can I ask the question. Wtf were they for? Gifts for the employees? 😂😂

        • +9

Ultimate Home gift cards can be used in-store at JBHifi or Good Guys, it equates to a further 10% off anything, unrestricted.
Especially ideal for Apple products (you can wait until there's a 10% off Apple comps sale), or buy an iPhone for 10% off effectively. It's a close as you can get to Apple staff discount since that's 15%, and requires an apple employee to burn their quota for you.

They're EFTPOS-class restricted to specific stores so there's no limit to using them in store, just annoying for the operator to process $50 at a time, so please don't be a horrible customer and use it during their busiest times.

In case anyone's curious, no you can't attempt to cycle these EFTPOS cards into cash or use at anywhere else (issued by InDue Australia, I've tested it, you can't use these EFTPOS gift cards anywhere else).

          • +1

@cwongtech: Did you try using the ultimate home card at "ultimate for her" shops?

            • @salmon123:

Did you try using the ultimate home card at "ultimate for her" shops?

I haven't tried… but given the fact that the card issuer is able to successfully limit it to specific stores at least so that it's not like a Westfield Gift card, where you can use it anywhere, I'd be confident it's locked within a set group of stores

If I find a chance to test it, I will :)
If you have a chance to test it, please report back! Let's make OzB a repository of knowledge :)

(issued by InDue Australia, I've tested it, you can't use these EFTPOS gift cards anywhere else).

Strange, the ultimate gift card for her is definitely issued by Blackhawk network.

              • @cwongtech:

If I find a chance to test it, I will :)

I noticed that "Ultimate gift cards for her" (which includes david jones) were excluded from the promotion this week…

I'd be confident it's locked within a set group of stores

I like to think that people are lazy and maybe they decided to just change the physical card, but not the mechanism which restricts the stores … still waiting for a report to see how it works.

The ultimate gift cards are a pretty new product and the listed stores haven't been through any major mergers and acquisitions. I think the acceptance of the cards will become a little more fuzzy if there's a merger or acquisition between a few of the stores.

          • @cwongtech: @cwongtech: If we get 1000 points for $50 gift card, isn't it 20% off??

            • @[Deactivated]: 1000 Woolworths reward points ~ $5 Woolworths discount in the future.

That's for the ultimate gift card series, not the new promo for other gcs

      • Is that deal still active?

      • I could not find any points redemption for the ultimate home gift cards, are they also on sale this week? Staff in store was also not sure as it was not listed on shelf. Thanks

Edit - just realised it was for last weeks catalog and not for this weeks.

    • I bought 4 of the ultimate gift cards last friday and have $20 to save in my EDR account

  • Last time was 10 card limit per rewards card. Wonder if same?

    • +2

No, it’s 10 per transaction, and unlimited transactions. That’s how Woolworths Rewards works, very different to Flybuys.

  • +1

This deal similar but no rewards card required https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/498795

    • Unlimited times 10 each go

    • 10% is not the same as $10!

  • Can I use my points to buy gift card?

    • yes

      • +4

I do not think so. W-Rewards Dollars can not be used to pay 3rd party giftcards since August this year.

        • +1

It feels a little random. I've used w-reward dollars for prepaid SIM cards (classed as gift cards by Wollies) and a few other gift cards.

Notably, I couldn't use w-reward dollars for a best restaurant gift card. Perhaps it depends on who the gift card issuer is?

  • Is this Uber card is for Uber eat or taxi?

  • +4

Better to get uber from coles this week 20% off face value instantly rather than waiting for woolies points

  • +2

better option for google play is to find a newsagent that takes amex and is on the map and use the shop small promo to buy them

  • +1

For extra 5% off, can you use Woolworth gift cards to buy these ?

    • +3

      Unfortunately no

    • +3

Can't use e-gift cards for gift cards anymore. Not even on self serve.

  • Strange why the ads say 10$ for 1000 points?

    • +1

2000 Woolworths Rewards Points can be used for $10 off your next shop, or can be transfered to 1000 Qantas Frequent Flyer Points.

  • thanx op, got 2x $50 netflix card and added code to my account..
$20 credit in my woolies rewards card too!

  • This morning I have purchased a $50 uber giftcard, scanned WW rewards card, now waiting for the 2,000 points

    • It should have shown up automatically on your receipt i.e. you earnt 2000 points this shop

      • The receipt doesn't show the 2,000 points. My ww account doesn't show the points either. I may ring them.

        • Does it say you earnt any points at all?

          • @kerfuffle: Yes, my receipt shows POINTS THIS SHOP: 2000

          • +1

@kerfuffle: Rang WW and got the points manually allocated to my account.

    • +1

lol I remember last time they did the Ebay cards everyone had to call up coz they stuffed up

few days later everyone got their points instantly when buying

  • Strangely it didn't use the $20 rewards on my card when I purchased two Uber cards just now. Always did in the past.

I got the additional points though.

  • Does it work on the $20 and $30 Google Play gift card? Terms say all denominations excluding variable load.

    • Yeah, you'll just be getting 800 and 1200 points.

      • -1

        Why not 1020 and 1030?

        • Because Maths. Why would you get 1020 points when $20 isn’t even half of $50 aka 2000 points?

          • -3

@kerfuffle: Err because the catalogue only mentions 2000 points in big print and that it's available on any denomination in small print?

            • +1

@kyle: Feel free to try it out and let us know how many points you get when you buy a $20/$30 Google Play gift card. I speak from experience when I say you won't get the 2000 points.

              • +2

@kerfuffle: I tried and can confirm this is correct. 800 points for $20 Netflix gift card.

  • +2

Learn from my mistake, I didn't see the "variable load" exclusion. I asked the staff for $50 Uber gift cards and they told me to just put $50 on the "20-500 just ask" gift card. No points, no refunds.

    • What is a just ask gift card? I googled it but nothing

      • +1

They mean a variable load gift card where you "just ask" them to load for example $37 on it

        • Yep so make sure the card only says '$50' on it.

    • Sorry for your loss

    • My condolences

  • +3

Just want to report that $50 Netflix and $50 Uber 2000 points instantly apply when checking out. If self check out will show on screen before paying.

$100 Best Restaurant card 4000 points also applies instantly

  • Does this apply to egift cards bought online from woolworths.com.au, or is it only for physical gift cards purchased instore ?

I just popped into my local Woolworths looking for a $50 Uber card but they didn't have any left, so just wondering if this promotion works for online purchase as Uber $50 is available for email delivery on woolworths.com.au
