  • This may be a dumb AF question, but can any aircons be controlled my Alexa?

    • +1

I did some research, it appears that you need to buy a seprate WLAN module for the WIFI control function.

    • I haven't received them yet but I bought a few of these a week or two ago after reading glowing reviews of what seems to be the identical thing sold by a local retailer for 4x the price. Turns any (at least 'most') ACs into Wi-Fi enabled simply by replacing the remote! Has its own App however they may also work with Alexa/Google etc. Fingers crossed anyway!

      • That looks very handy, would like to buy one for my old dining room's aircon.

    • The new Panasonics should be able to (confirm the compatibility on Panasonic's website) but you need to buy an expansion module for it.

Not sure about LG but I think they can get it, assume you need an add on module though.

Mitsubishi Electric (think they can get Alexa control) or Mitsubishi Heavy would be my ideal pick though for split system air cons. Although Panasonic would be my pick at the more budget conscious end of home air cons.

  • To anyone who doesn’t know
    It’s a better electrical store

  • The "LG P18AWN-14 AIR CONDITIONER INVERTER SPLIT SYSTEM 5.0KW-$949" is showing $1,899 for me ?!?!

    • Sorry mate, it was a black Friday deal. I think you can check with them to see if they could still match that rate.

  • I think you should consult with experts like that firm https://abc-air.com.au/ . They can help me to choose the air conditioner and to install it in my apartment. Those guys did an amazing job. Very fast and clean. I'm pleased with their service and can recommend that company.
