  • what if I have an open plan space?

I won't get very good Atmos?

    • My setup is half open. I would honestly say that this doesn't provide very good Virtual Surround or Atmos experience, which was somewhat disappointing considering I expected a bit more at this price.

I know some brands "calibrate" using a microphone to suit the room. LG unfortunately don't bother. Only a few different settings to tweak in the app.

I honestly wish I just did a proper home theatre set up.

  • Think I paid $930 a few months ago for mine and I also bought the rear SPK-8 speakers too.

My review is that it's a decent soundbar, but probably not worth the extra money over the 9 or 8 version (at RRP prices).

The main reason I bought this was due to integration with Google Assistant.

The SPK8 wireless rear speakers are honestly a waste of money, they don't add much and can barely hear them or adjust their volume.

TLDR expensive soundbar, worth it at this price. Don't bother with rear speakers. Still doesn't compete with home theatre set up.

  • Great price.

I have been researching sound bars over the last week and tossing up between:
    1. LG SL10YG
    2. Yamaha YSP-2700
    3. Bose Soundbar 500 + Bass module 500

Which is best for a small/medium open room for music & movies?

Honestly, the SL10YG is probably overkill for a small/medium room. I have a open plan and when the wife wants to sleep I have to turn it down to level 10 at night.

Thanks for the comment, really appreciate it. That narrows down my search to 2 models.

i've been interested in this too, just trying to decide between this or the samsung HW-Q90R

    • The Samsung will decimate it in every way

  • No stock but DAMN missed out on this, someone try price match: https://www.davidjones.com/712-dolby-atmos-wi-fi-sound-bar-y…
