I agree that ambient mode is not a compelling reason for purchase.
We have an older Yoga 3 with a similar kickstand and find it to be a great feature for watching content at a table.
True. For potential customers I'd say buy it for the tablet, not Google assistant features.
Wow, when it's advertised as "with GA" , I thought it's full-fledged GA like other smart displays.

If it's the same as what's on phones , no it's not. You ask for commands and it just invokes video / music like voice control on a phone would, not how the Smart Displays do it.
Can't customise slideshow speed, number of notifications shown, so on and so forth. Home controls show but not as flexible as what's on smart displays.

This is not a rip-off. It's an excellent deal.
The Lenovo - ZA3V0030AU - Yoga Smart Tab has only been on the Australian market a matter of weeks, so it's surprising to see a discount so soon and so large. You can get an even bigger discount ($130 with code) on Bing Lee's eBay store.
Ambient Mode isn't just software. There are far-field microphones and larger speakers, which changes modes according to the kick stand position. This is a very innovative tablet.
It's the same as the Yoga tablet a couple of years back, sure might have some more microphones but that's about it.
Don't get ahead of yourself regarding its functionality cos it is essentially a cut down version of what's on smart displays.
Besides, sd439 is somewhat weak for a tablet let alone a phone. Probably should be priced lower.

I was going to say price match with Officeworks but looks like they were quick to change their price to be $1 cheaper than JB.

This is one of the best Android tablets. Reasons: Almost pure Android 9 (as new as you can get on a tablet with unmodified interface), 4GB RAM, excellent speakers and special microphones for Ambient Mode.
A further off $399 or $369? You can only use one code I think?
Seems like a ripoff considering Ambient Mode is rolling out to Android phones as we speak. Got it on my Mi 9T.
That being said, ambient mode feels like a cut down version of what's on Google smart displays (I have the Lenovo and JBL ones).
