  • Is the spec any good?

Absolute garbage of a device. No joke.

    • how come? what were u using it for?

thinking of getting one for the wife - she will use it for browsing and youtubing at home and when travelling. should be ok…

      • got one of these a few months ago for my parents to replace an aging laptop and a tablet, works great for their uses! It all depends what its being used for

        • It doesn’t do those jobs it was intended to well. It is terrible at browsing, that lag is very noticeable. It gets so hot running basic excel spreadsheets so I’m not sure what it’s uses are.

          • @Michaelz101: Not what my experiences are with it but if you had the 4gb 64gb option then i would understand. Yes its not blistering quick and i wouldnt use it for myself as i am a power user but i would be surprised if my parents could be faster than it on most things.

      • I had one for 2 weeks. It was lagging, unresponsive, the Microsoft Store has some buggy apps. The biggest drawback is how hot this thing gets. Trust me avoid. I did go for the surface pro even with that I regret not just getting a iPad Pro.

Wow the downvotting is hard with this one.

I'd get an iPad instead. Try these out at a Microsoft store or JB. The keyboard is tiny and uncomfortable. CPU is underpowered.

They feel small as they run a windows OS rather than anything specific to the size.

      Strongly disagree.

Surface Go is a fabulous device, great for travel - I'm often taking it instead of my main laptop.

But I'm not using it to watch video crap (iPad is for that) but actually do some work on the go. It is slow, but does the job.

Type cover is a must. LTE version is good for convenience.

      • So it’s slow? $671 for a slow device? Mate how can you strongly disagree when you said it’s slow? This garbage was Microsoft attempt to put something together to go head to head with the entry iPads. It failed miserably. You should never pay $671 and then have to talk yourself into it “it does the job”. It should be “it’s amazing” but you never hear that with this garbage device.

It does the job well, regardless of being slow.

For me the convenience of chucking it in the backpack and being able to do the job on the go, is worth more than $671.

iPad is garbage device for work - and I wasted more money on iPad Pro and its useless keyboard, than I wisely spent on Surface Go and type cover.

Have you actually used Surface Go (for anything else but watching videos)?

          • @Jef Tino: See my comment above. I used it for 2 weeks before returning it and upgraded to a surface pro. Still have the surface pro 6 here but much preferred if I got the iPad Pro and keyboard combo.

This one has at least got 8GB though.
      The 4GB is laughable.

For my money, I'd rather a convertible laptop. Anything up to $800 as you need to factor in the keyboard also. Might get a touch pen too with it, unlike the surface which charges $100.

    • Absolute garbage comment to match!

The type cover still costs $150, essentially required to use the device productively
