Samsung EVO Plus 128GB U3 MicroSD - $28 @ JB Hi-Fi

740

First post, hope I haven't done anything wrong. Seems to be a good price for local stock/click and collect/in store. May not have price stickers up in store but is definitely honoured at checkout.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2019

      That's U1, not U3

      • +1

True, but for some uses, it will hardly make a difference.

          10mb vs 90mb write..

@digitizer: That's right. So for storing and playing games, eg. on a Switch, it won't make any noticeable difference…

            • @jv: only if the read is the same, the machine still has to access the games stored on the microusb

                @ColstonAUS:

only if the read is the same

                It is.

I've seen tests that suggest the Switch wont read faster than 95 anyway, so pretty much any class 10 will be the same.

First post, hope I haven't done anything wrong.

If you have, don't tell anyone and maybe they won't notice.

    • +1

There's a yellow square with L next to their name, so you don't have to say anything for someone to notice.

  • They are price matching this deal

      • Hi jv, is this deal or the Sandisk 200gb one better for a Nintendo switch?

        • +1

Depends on how many games you want to store offline and/or how tight your budget is.

          • @jv: Thanks, bought the 200Gb

            • @Sutra: That's probably more than enough for most people.

  • To compare with SanDisk Extreme MicroSD 128GB (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/500910) regardless $3-$4 different, which one is better for Dji Osmo Pocket?

  • didnt jb hifi buy out good guys, but why they still list different stuff difeerent prices

    • Because they want you to occasionally walk in the door of the other store. Same thing happens between target and Kmart.

  • picked one of these up, i always miss these good deals on SD cards.. so finally got one at a decent price

  • Is this one or this deal better for a Nintendo Switch ?https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/499866

I use the Samsung EVO Plus 128GB in my Nintendo Switch, works perfectly fine for me!

    • +2

You won't need the ultra if it's just for a Switch.

Lots of tests done on youtube and it doesn't make a difference.

As long as it's class 10 and U1, higher specs aren't need. The bottleneck will be the Switch, not the card.

Just get a reputable brand like Sandisk or Samsung.

$18.80 here with free delivery for eBay Plus members. I've ordered 2 over the last two weeks and they've been legit.

    • you should post a deal on here for it :)

      • I believe it was already posted a couple of days ago. I'm only new, so not sure on the rules around re-posting the same deal.

        • ah! didn't see it either.. good catch though for ebay plus members

yeah don't think you can repost it if others have, i thought you found a new deal!

  • Any good for 1080p dashcam ?

    • definitely…

  • Slightly cheaper, I grabbed a Sandisk Extreme 128GB U3 /V30 for $25.20 from amazon au https://www.amazon.com.au/Sandisk-SDSQXA1-128G-GN6MA-Extreme…

    • Are these UHS-3 with a UHS-1 adaptor?

      • This is a UHS-I card so it has a UHS-I adapter. I think you're confusing UHS-I with U1.

U3 denotes the minimum read/write speed and is different from UHS.

    • The amazon listing says class 4. Sandisk are quite confusing with their products and change speeds without changing the name. You have to look at the actual specs. So either this is old stock of a slower card, or it's a typo, or (less likely) it's a fake. I'm not sure if the extremes were ever class 4. Class 4 means it only guarantees 4MB/s sustained, which often isn't enough for video depending on the device and settings.
