    plasma :(

  • is this full HD???

    • +1

      Nope … it's 1024x768

      • +1

…which is even worse than 'half' HD. Brr!
        cheap though.

      • for comparison, most DVDs are 720x576. 1024x768 is not much more, really.

Still great for Grandma, of course, but at 42 inches you'll probably notice the difference on a good blu-ray.

    • Even worse, it's not even widescreen! (1024x768 = 4:3)

      • it's widescreen… it has non-square pixels. That's what makes it extra-painful.

        • I think I'd call that stretched screen rather than wide screen. It's using 53% of the horizontal pixels and 64% of the vertical pixels compared to full HD. That's really Telefunkened!

  • hmmm

    1024x768 HD Resolution
I will not call this HD.

  • +1

    Telefunken?? I'd hide it too!

Chuck high-def content and sit more than 1.5 meters away from the screen, and most standard def plasmas look quite acceptable. Can't really comment on this particular model, but from every other budget panel I've seen in these condition.

it's the rectangular pixels that really kill it. Normal 'half' HD screens at least use proper square pixels. This will look noticeably worse than a normal half-HD screen.

  • LOL… good tv or not.. it's out of stock in VIC already.

    • Still makes a good coffee table.

      • kind of narrow.

  • $40 delivery fee…

    • might as well head over to dick smith and pick up a vivo 42" plasma for $447 :)
