i use a aldi expresso type machine and buy what ever ground beans from coles …..my question is will i really taste the difference if i buy this machine ?

Doesn’t have to be this machine specifically. However any kind of burr grinder and buying fresh whole beans yes you will absolutely notice the difference. This is a great price for a great grinder. I started out with a manual hand grinder but takes way too much effort to be honest. Just buy this.

Nah, using the Porlex grinder, (along with the Aeropress) for each coffee just adds to the whole experience. For me, It's like a modern day version of a tea ceremony…not to mention it's absolutely (IMO) the best coffee drinking experience ever!

Personally I'm very happy to have an electric grinder instead of hand grinding when the whole family wants a coffee. For just one coffee, sure.
I've been doing this for a year now. Hario ceramic hand grinder with a nanopresso with barista kit and a left over milk frother from nespresso. Makes coffees at a 80% taste level to a café. Have about 2-3 coffees a day this way. The most time involved is the grinding of coffee, but I do love the fact that the only power I use is boiling the kettle and the footprint for all the coffee stuff is much smaller than having a fancy machine.
But don't get me wrong. I think I'll get a machine one day!

All the single origin beans have their place and work well. Their main line stuff is pretty rubbish though.

Agree…. Both Peru and Colombia (their 2 single origin options) are both excellent at $12.99.
Even the blended bean option (at $11.49} is far better than anything at Coles or woolies. The blend is a little cheaper as it is arabica mixed with cheaper robusta beans.
For those who don't have an aldi nearby, go for Harris medium roast at WOOLIES.
also it is conical burr grinder
had this for last 4 years
Flawless!
Even the static on the chute is great
Even the static on the chute is great
Yeah, I don't know how it manages static so well.
Even some expensive grinders struggle in this area.

Its less susceptible to static because its a little more clumpy than the high end grinders.
Thanks for posting this. Been looking at this grinder for a few weeks. Pulled the trigger on this deal. AWESOME… :)
For the money you really wont get a better grinder, next step up would be a Baratza Sette 270 at $400+.
My first 820 only lasted a month but it was swapped under warranty and the replacement is now nearly 2 years old with daily use.I think I paid around this price a long time ago. Matched with my 920 Breville, makes a good espresso with a range of fresh beans. Use Rio single from SA and have only needed to go down to a setting of 8 (usually for the darker roasts or if the bean is near 3 weeks).
After 3 weeks, it's bin time.Anyhow.. Unit is easy to clean and has not missed a beat.

For everyone raving about aldi beans and knocking Coles beans, these are pretty good https://shop.coles.com.au/a/a-national/product/coles-brand-c... - fresh and I rate them slightly better than the aldi beans.

Just ordered one from Amazon for $151.20. Use the better cash back as well and free shipping for Amazon Prime members.
Great price. Probably the cheapest I've seen. The best grinder I've used
