[QLD] Medion X81081 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard $49.99 @ ALDI, Fortitude Valley

130

By chance, I walked in Aldi at Fortitude Valley (QLD) and noticed that the keyboard listed in this deal is $30 cheaper.
I couldn't convince myself to buy it for $79.99 a month ago but for $49.99 decided to try taking into account the wonderful ALDI return policy.

Quick Spec:

  • Mechanical Kailh Switches with Blue Shaft
  • High quality aluminium keyboard chassis and braided USB cable
  • 100% anti-ghosting keys
  • RGB Background illumination
  • Detachable Palm Rest

They also have this for the same price at Orange NSW (around 5 in stock). They have the mouse also for $29 (7 left)

You're a legend, thank you. I'ma head there tomorrow and pick up one of each perhaps. Definitely need a keyboard though lol

      • It's in the case next to the registers (not on the floor). Seen these 2 days ago at Orange.

With specials at aldi, if they are not sold for a while they'll deeply discount them. I'd expect the stores that have this left may have this price or may not, its probably managers discretion. Happened with the 3D printer sales when some stayed in store and took up too much room.

Cool deal but I doubt there would be much in the way of stock anywhere.

I bought this after it’s first price drop. It’s a really decent keyboard. Only thing that irks me is you can adjust all the lighting and turn it off bar the ring around the volume knob. That stays pretty damn bright and is quite annoying in a completely black room

  • Recommend picking it up? Anyone know of any stock around Sydney ?
Curious now since I didn't realise this thing existed.

  • Decent KB but I opted for the more expensive Hyper X deal that was just recently posted and I don't regret the upgrade one bit.

The clicky blues didn't annoy me personally but they are pretty noisy and that's just at home. As for the build quality, I now realise what my money bought. Better overall quality, lower profile, sturdier keys, solid alloy body and better software for customisation. For the money, at $49 it's a slightly tougher call but at $80 it was a no brainer for me.

I'd suspect a lot of them will go cheaper as they're all locked up in the stores I've seen so hardly out in the open to catch people's eye. Also at $80, even I felt it was a gamble.

Id be interested to know peoples thoughts on the comparison with a Kogan Mech KB at $39. Readily available and more key/colour options.

  • Do you see any $35 DC fan there ?
