Zoom H4n Portable Digital Audio Recorder - $338.50 plus FREE POSTAGE!

31

RRP: $499

A field recorder records audio. So does a multi-track recorder. So does a USB audio interface. Seems silly to own three different machines that all do basically the same thing, doesn't it? Zoom agrees. That's why they designed the Zoom H4n.

      • +1

Yep, all the usual unemployed teenagers are here, commenting on and negging stuff they can't afford or understand.

    • +6

This is something aimed at journalists or musical artists who want top quality audio recording, definitely something not something you'd see everyday.

    • +4

And Ferraris are way too much because Kias are less, right? If you don't have a clue what you're on about, why comment?

The H4 is a high-quality mobile recording unit. To compare it to an iPod is ridiculous beyond belief.

This appears their normal price… it was the same price last month

This is the best price in Australia from a local dealer.

      • it is in the formums, advertisment doesnt go well here

Ok, no problem - my apologies for not understanding the system, we are somewhat new to this.
We will be sure to come up with some special OzBargain only offers and post them up.

Thanks for your input and advice.

        • Thanks for that jv.

Any advice on what people on here prefer out of coupons or straight discounts?

        • Either I guess,

If your price is the cheapest, and it's not your normal selling price (and it's something people would want), you're more likely to get +ve votes…

Why don't you ask in the forums ???

        • +9

ill prob get negged for a different view on this, but IF its the cheapest of its kind in australia, does it really matter if its on sale or not? If i were in the market for such an item, i would like to know about this. And, if its the cheapest of its kind, then I think that qualifies it to be listed on ozbargain, regardless if its the merchants usual selling price. I dont think things need to be on special to qualify. If its cheap, its cheap and thats what really matters.. just my view… although, even if it is the cheapest.. it still seems alot! :)

does it really matter if its on sale or not?

yes, because if a Rep is posting their normal selling price, then it is an Advertisment, and SPAM is not allowed…

        • i see where youre coming from.. but then, couldnt any post from a Rep be considered an Advertisement…
how about we agree to disagree on this one :)

        • dont feed jv…. Hes one of those lonlely kids who hangs around a forum all day hoping that one day, someone will make him a mod. he has no authority what so ever on anything.

coupon over discount is really your discretion, the low price may draw more customers from outside of ozbargain, but if your price is already the lowest, it may just lead to you losing less money than you have to. tough call.

      • How about a deal for the new H2N with accessory kit? If it is not available yet but the price is good, we can even pre-order.

        • Hi Fenger,

Thanks for your interest - we are just waiting on pricing and an ETA to be firmed up but we would be happy to work out a great price for a preorder.
Please feel free to email [email protected] if you would like us to update you when we get more info.

          Cheers,

  • Cheaper on eBay

$321 AUD (that's including USPS postage) after currency conversion.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Zoom-H4n-H4-n-H-4n-Handy-Portable…

Also there is a cheaper version called the Zoom H1

And you get the Aus. warranty with the one from the US? Oh no, you don't. Well, that's not comparable then. (I checked with Zoom before I bought my units, and was told it would have to go back to the country of purchase for repair if it needed it.)

The H1 - I've got the H4, the H2 and the H1 - is nothing like the same.

  • Ok cool.
Yes will do, I just realised that there are forums.

    Thanks again for your help.

    • Nice!

  • this one looks like a D50 to me

  • How about a deal on the Q3HD? I was going to purchase overseas…but could be swayed.

    :-)

    • Hi MrMaxwell,

We are always happy to do a deal - what sort of price can you land one from O/S for? We will do out best to come close.

This is actually a very good unit. I have one sitting in front of me. Very easy to use. And for a better sound, easy to connect better microphones to it (via XLR).
Good things: - builtin mics very handy
    - easy to use
    - 24bit/96KHz recordings
    - uses AA batteries
    - standard XLR connection for microphones

    Not so good:
    - I suppose it's not the smallest unit - i.e. you wouldn't carry it around in your pocket - it's possible, but it's not the size of an iPhone or anything
