  • I like that this mouse is easy to clean and the friction-less scrolling is a game changer.

  • I'm not sure whether to get this, or https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/502978 for general everyday use and comfort. The MX Vertical seems to be a bit weird when I put my hands in, or probably because I'm not used to it? Any personal experiences?

if you are considering that one it's probably because you know the benefits of it. It becomes natural over time as there is less strain on the joints.

      • Saw this when it was released and through some youtube advertisements. Will look more into it.

I went for the Vertical. I think if you give it a good shot and get through the initial adjustment, it would be better for general/productivity use. Reviews say the vertical is not great if you're wanting something to use primarily for gaming.

The more traditional mouse like the MX 2S may have more buttons/options? I haven't looked into it to advise definitively.

If you compare the two, the Vertical had a few benefits for me, it has 3 ways of connecting; USB-C, Bluetooth and Receiver.
The MX 2S I think only has two (Bluetooth and Receiver) on its specs, so I cannot confirm if you can use the mouse while it's charging…I do believe however the rapid charging on the MX 2S means you can just charge it for a few minutes (2-3) and have enough juice to keep working wirelessly, so not as big of a deal in reality. Also the MX 2S has micro-usb not usb-c.
Going for the Vertical Mouse meant having the latest connector (USB-C) & one less cable for me to carry.

Both Mouse models (Vertical or MX) are priced well however and have a decent amount of positive reviews. I have used the older MX series mice (Wireless Performance MX) in the past and found them ok/somewhat comfortable also, but this new MX model (Master 2s) appears to have better ergonomics.

      • Thanks mate. Will review more of the Vertical.

      • Hey Choc, I'm trying to search this. With the scroll wheel, are you able to push it to left and right? Or is it just fixed up and down scroll?

        • Check this review out mate: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NsJ9YaT5Tg
good side by side, I think it's just adjusting to the vertical and then more comfort, the reviewer commented that after using for a extended period, he had none of the pain associated with doing the same on the 2S.

That being said, if you are very picky about buttons, scrolling features etc the 2S may be more versatile.

          Up and down scroll.

        • The MX Master doesn't have a tilt scroll wheel, however it does have two thumb buttons, a thumb scroll wheel, and a button just above the scroll, you can map any to anything you want in the logitech software.

  • Banging mouse

Great mouse. Don't be a fool like me and buy the white colour. It is impossible to keep clean

    • Second this!

My white MX Original has turned black from use ;) Otherwise still kicking like day 1, after 4 years of brutal use!

Temped to get this .. but really want to stop using micro USB and the new model is USB C .. so I think i'll hold off for a deal on that just to reduce cable clutter.

    • This model has bluetooth connectivity too! It can connect up to 3 devices at the same time with profile switching, which I assume utilises the bluetooth. USB receiver is optional for the old-school. :)

      • It's more about charging. I hate the miro / mini usb connectors.

        • That is true, but you hardly need to charge them. Usually once a month for my usage.

        • Agree, I am trying to stick to USB-C where possible for the same reason.

        • Wouldn't any USB C to USB C cable work though?

    • I have a couple of those magnetic cables, and just permanently leave the heads in my mouse, BT headphones, action camera, whatever. When I leave my desk I quickly attach the magnetic cable.

  • .
a newer model listed at MSY but dearer like $149 that has USB C https://www.msy.com.au/-logitech-mx-master-3-910-005698-adva…
I like the side scroll wheel that I'd make use of as my thumb never does anything on a normal mouse

THANKS Being Askhole picked one up …..the sale wasn't listed in store just needed to ask (JB have so many short sales staff can't keep up)

  • I purchased my original Mx master 4 years ago I use her almost everyday, dropped it, treat it badly countless times it doesn't look as good as it used too but she works exactly the same way she worked day 1 and gets the job done.
