    To stab someone

    • +2

Preferably not. We recommend using them as a drinking apparatus.

      • you can still drink after stabbing. #drinkingapparatus

        • +1

Please don't stab anyone with our straws… not sure if my insurance will cover us!

  • At least put shipping price in title if that is what we have to pay

    • Sure, will do.

  • why does PO Box and parcel locker cost more to ship to?

    • +2

Australia Post is more expensive than the couriers that we use unfortunately… for all our shipments it costs approximately $5 more to use them. We try to keep our shipping as competitive as possible :)

im sure these straws will fit in a

        Small
        35.5 x 22cm
        5kg
        $9.20

        why does it cost $15?

        • We offer flat rate shipping for all orders - $9.95 for standard, $14.95 for Auspost and $21 for express.

We don't offer weight-based or size-based shipping as it's easy to see costs before cart and it usually works out best for people (but maybe not the case if you only order a very small item which no one usually does as we sell heavier stainless steel items).

        • +3

If you select standard shipping and still type in a PO Box address, I'm happy to send it for the $9.95 instead of $14.95. Just add "OzBargain" in the notes at checkout.

  • "Just pay shipping!"

    Which is how much exactly?

    • +1

I have added it to the title now.

    • it says $9.95 to Melbourne. not worth it.

      • +1

Yes, $9.95 shipping Australia wide for standard shipping. The promotion is intended to be a freebie within an order… but if you only order the free item I guess the deal may not seem as good =)

  • +1

Misleading…title says FREE but have to pay shipping

  • $10 shipping? You need to add that into the title.

    • +1

Ouch for the neg! ;) I've already updated the title of the deal to include shipping - you were so fast! Un-neg? ;)

      • +8

I'll revoke it since you're new but given you're a rep and this is advertising/marketing a business, be mindful not to give a false impression of a freebie on OzBargain if there are shipping costs/strings attached since all it'll do is annoy those who click through it and realise it's not actually free.

        • +1

Cool, noted! I didn't click that I should have included the shipping, will triple check any posts I do in future…and damn the post was neg'd fast! ;)

  • +2

I’ll save you all five seconds: website says “$9.95 STANDARD SHIPPING OR FREE OVER $120”

    • It's in the title too =)

    • How many steel straws would I need to buy to qualify for the free shipping?

      • +3

        Just the 4 straws… ;)

        1 x free straws + $120 worth of barware = free shipping!

  • And so you dont have to fill out all the details to get postage costs. $9.95 standard shipping to All states it would appear

    • +1

It's in the title now and it's also in the header on the website so no one has to enter details =)

  • Should have gone with;

"Stainless Steel Straws, Set of 4 $9.95 + Free Delivery @ Cocktail Kit"

    • Hmmm.. I'll have to come back with a pretty sharp deal for you OBers next time!

  • +5

Rather just put $9.95 delivered or free with $120 purchases (I gathered from your responses)

    • I'm new to OB and hadn't included the $9.95 shipping when I first posted so the deal got neg'd pretty damn fast! Lol..

  • Nice amendment by RichardL - thanks!

  • I just don't think these things are safe for kids or anyone for that matter. I'll stick to the plastic strays.

    • I love the bamboo straws for tiki drinks!

    • plastic strays.

And I will be sticking with stray dogs.

    • When I was a youngster we had parfait spoons that had hollow stems to use as straws. All five of us kids have somehow made it to middle age.

Stainless Steel straws 4pk $3.99 yesterday's Aldi special buys

    • -1

That's a great deal.. do they also deliver it to your doorstep? ;)

    • +1

Shhh…. that's where Steve the Bartender bought them.

      • Lol, don't tell anyone!

    • +2
      • -1

+$10 delivery so $13 to get them to your door.. few bucks more expensive! …but if you are making a trip to Kmart then it's a great deal!

  • Get them from Aldi - $3.99 8 pk picked them up this morning- different designs colors etc, stainless steel

    • +1

Bargain! …I'll have them delivered to your door though for the extra $6 ;)

      • Not a bargain if you have to pay more than the price for delivery

        • Depends how you look at it…

Only claim the free straws and pay $9.95 - it's definitely not the cheapest possible deal you will ever find on the internet and in stores.

If you are in need of cocktail equipment and you score some free straws at the same time, then it can be seen as a good deal :-)

I'm going to have to head to Aldi for some 8 packs!

  • Aren't these really hard to wash?

    • +1

Nope. We have a tiny brush for ours. Easy as.

    • Nope - but I guess it depends what you are drinking.. these are 6mm in diameter so best for soft drinks, water, etc. the 8-10mm ones are better for smoothies. If you used these for a smoothie then yes, I could see them being a little tougher to wash with the fruit chunks (especially if you don't rinse straight after!)..

  • +1

$7 for 8 straws delivered, with 2 cleaning brushes:
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/8-STAINLESS-STEEL-STRAWS-REUSABL…

    • That's a great deal! I'm going to buy myself a few sets..! ;)

…but can I order barware through them at the same time? >_<

      • -2

Who cares, a bargain is a bargain, that's what we're all HERE for…

    • Some of the eBay/Amazon ones also come with a latex, I wanna say, nib(?) which is handy if you naturally are a straw chewer and don’t want to wreck your teeth.

      • +1

Ouch! Definitely don't want to go chewing on the steel ones!

  • +1

I love my stainless straws and have been using them for years but be really careful when using. I never even thought about it until a woman died when she tripped(?) and her eye was impaled.

    • Is this legit - or just like one of those 'running with scissors' stories?

      Link?

        • Well, there you go!

…..she was found on the floor of their kitchen making “unusual gurgling sounds”.

Mandy told the hearing her wife’s glass cup was lying on the floor “still intact and the straw was still in the jar”.

“I noticed the straw was sticking into her head…..

    • +1

Yes, I heard that. Extremely unfortunate circumstance. I would definitely not recommend stainless steel straws for anybody that has mobility issues. The lady that passed away had spinal issues and was known to collapse often. In this case, I would recommend sticking with plastic straws.

  • -2

Haha jeez the bargain police come out of the woodwork when a new business posts a deal.

Everyone just wants another '3% off $100 spend shopback deal'.

    • Yep, I was hounded within 30 seconds! Haha - I'll know better next time.

  • Aldi has them at 8 for $4

    • If you are already making a trip to Aldi and don't need any other bar-related items then this is a very good deal as others have mentioned =)

  • Personally we use the silicon straws because they are easier to carry around with us and the stainlesss steel ones are very"cold" when drinking milkshakes. If you go to Spotlight you can get similar for cheaper, but you will have to pick up from B&M store.

    https://www.spotlightstores.com/kitchen-dining/kitchen-appli…

    • Not familiar with B&M - Googled it but it only came up with UK stores..

      • Sorry, Bricks and Mortar as opposed to online.

  • +1

Wait, Steve the Bartender is on OzB? I can picture that charismatic smile while spuiking stainless straws! How about a nice cocktail set?

  • and kiddies no running around with the S/S straws in your mouth as when you trip it may skewer you through to the back of your neck.

  • ALDI does have the silicone version $3.99 pk of 6 (comes with a unicorn holder and cleaning brush)
    That's safe for kids.
    https://www.lasoo.com.au/offer/straws/joie-reusable-straws/5…

    • Recommend the silicon. The first sip is a touch “odd” but no probs after that. We carry ours around is a small hard plastic container because they roll up.
