  • SPAM. FAIL.

  • Huh. Maybe not spam but I do know quite a few people learning saving tips from that forum. Here's also a review from my friend:

    http://www.bhatt.id.au/blog/simple-secrets-to-saving-money-i…

I have no personal experience though. Browsing through OzBargain saves me enough I think :)

  • For $31 is too much for charging customers to get "free" member based submission.

and I think most of them a common sense way of savings anyway or where to get cheaper deals

at the end, I agree with scotty, ozbargain is FREE (again, FREE to join) and I already gained so much out of it in term of savings.

    • On the other note — I think Internet users today are too spoiled by all the free services online and have assumed that everything with "HTTP://" in front of it should be free :)

I guess sites operated differently — OzBargain is funded with advertisement (although members can opt-out from this), but SimpleSavings is funded by membership subscription fees. But then again would people pay subscription to get an ads-free OzBargain? I don't think so :)

Finally thing — I think OzBargain is also different from SimpleSavings in its core message. They are about frugal living (which sometimes require compromises in both quality and quantity of life), whereas OzBargain is all about buying cheap stuff (which does have compromises in quality sometimes when you talk about Conia TVs :) Two very different sites I think.

      • Yeah I would agree with that.

The website only has to save you $31 per year!

  • I have joined this site before and found it unstructured and messy, this may have changed since I was a member, so I barely used it. I do enjoy reading my free newsletter however often the advise is ridiculous.

    • … unstructured and messy

Which seems to be the current state of OzBargain as well :) Hopefully we will come up with a way to organise massive amount of useful advice here.

      • Come on Scotty……. you know I love Oz Bargain. The layout is wonderful. There are a few ways we could improve it but nothing could be perfect but you do a great job mate! I saw your friend's blog had similar feedback about simple savings.

  • I know it may not be for everyone, but I love Simple Savings. There is a lot of information that is useful and equally a lot of information that is not….I guess with everything you take the good with the bad:)

This site is more about how you can save money by altering your habits and the way you go about everyday things. I agree with Scotty oz bargain and simple savings are two very different sites, but equally useful. I have definitely saved my subscription fee over and over again.
