Noticed a few whisky specials at Costco yesterday ( I went to Marsden Park, but expect these to be nationwide).
Lagavulin 16YO $90 - currently on specials at Dan Murphy’s for $96. It gets to the $96 mark fairly frequently, but I haven’t seen it at $90 in a long time.
Cardhu 12 was $59. $74 at DM
The Kirkland blended 12YO was also discounted by $20 down to $99.99 for 1.75l, or $40 per 700ml. I wanted to give it a try so got one, but at that price point my personal preference would be The Johnnie Walker Black Label.
Sorry I didn’t take note of start and end dates for these specials.

        absolute rubbish. Both costco stores in NSW sell booze, as do numerous ALDIs.

          Yeah my local Colewsorth have 2 seperate (but connected) rooms. My local Aldi though they just display near check out tf

          The alcohol at Costco in Victoria is in the same area as the rest of the items. If you are into Noble One, they have the 375 ml bottles at $25, which is pretty good. They were down to $22 at one point, so I bought a few.

        Eh, it's a little more nuanced than that. At this point it's more of a competition thing to protect bottle shops than specifically an alcohol thing.

        There are specific exemptions for international grocers and the like who import stuff that doesn't pose a competitive risk.

    It is just cheaper to buy the Lagavulin at Dan Murphy. It is $95.9 but if you pay with gift card and use shop back, then you are only paying $88.70 and you don't need to pay Costco stupid membership fees.

    Also with the Cardhu, it is $65 at BWS, pay with wish gift card and it only cost you $60 even less if you have access to staff card.($57)

    It is $79.99 at Costco EPPING today . Best price I have ever seen for 16YO.
    And Cardhu 12 @ $49.99.

    I bought both last week, therefore Costco refunded the difference.
