  • Thanks rep, good deal. I can't seem to find anything but do you carry an oat powder product? Similar to this:
Would get both if you did.

    • No worries. No we don't have anything of this nature in stock at the moment. We do have Oats and Whey, but it's a blend between the two, not straight oats.

  • Any possibility of a deal for the 5kg tub?

    • Maybe in the future, but no plans at the moment. We chose to promote this size due to the better range of flavours available in the 2.35kg size.

  • Are they going to pass the law that classes supplements as medicine rather than food and will have to be approved by the TGA? Seems like most supplement companies will have to clear A LOT of stock.

    • +2

For clarity, it isn't entirely accurate that, if the proposed change is approved, supplements will necessarily be considered as medicine. Certain supplements may, for example supplements in capsule or tablet form. There are other considerations too. Sports supplements aren't necessarily going to be lumped into a "medicine" category automatically.

For supplements that are affected if this does proceed, I presume there will be a period where products are registered and re-labelled over a period of time.

There is a big if, as nothing has been determined yet.

  • Hi Jay,
I am looking to combine this with a fat burner to get more definition.
Is it best to get these Scitech and combine them with something like Linoleic Acid or similar, or buy ripped proteins like the Vital strength and forget about the additional fat burner/thermogenic?

(PS, i am already using there proteins and i strongly recommend)

    • Thanks for the question ets27 - it's a good one.

If you're going to grab this protein, I'd suggest against purchasing a second protein powder like Vital Strength Ripped.

If however I misunderstood and you were toying between this and a fat burner protein versus a combination supplement, I have a few thoughts below.

Like most supplement stores, we do sell a range of fat burner products. There are some ingredients that have good evidence behind them (eg. Acetyl-l-carnitine - which is present in many fat burners), but you also have to watch out for all the gimmicky ingredients. There's a whole range of products that we don't stock frankly because of the crap that is out there (to be frank).

I believe that you may have been referring to CLA above? In which case yes this may help also. I will be honest in that I have not seen the latest research on CLA, but recall reading about some benefits to obese adults who supplemented with it. I cannot however comment on the integrity of the study I read (this was a long time ago!).

Many of the proteins that fall into the "fat burning protein" category aren't all that fantastic and are overpriced for what they actually are.

Ultimately with getting added definition, most of your results will come from diet and training. Supplementing with a weight loss supplement may assist, but to a much lesser degree. Often the biggest benefit of a weight loss supplement is investing into something that re-enforces all the behaviours necessary to achieve that goal. Ie. if you get a fat burner, you're more likely to train, more likely to eat clean etc. And then the supplement itself may further accelerate those results that little bit.

So I believe that either a protein mixed with some key ingredients, or a protein plus another supplement could be effective. Personally I tend to use separate supplements rather than "all-in-one's" as to ensure I'm just getting exactly what I'm after…but that's just me.

I hope this is of some help.

  • FYI - This is WPC.

    • Yep thanks for pointing that out Bob. Just as an FYI, "technically" it does have WPI in there, but it's one of the last ingredients meaning that this is negligible. Ingredients as follows (for choc):

Whey Protein Concentrate (Milk), Fat-reduced Cocoa Powder (6%), Taurine, Flavors (Chocolate, Cream), Sodium Chloride, L-Glutamine, L-Leucine, Thickener (Xanthan gum), Sweeteners (Acesulfame K, Sucralose), Whey Protein Isolate (Milk), Bromelain extracted from Ananas comosus (1200 GDU/g), Papain extracted from Carica papaya (1.5 FIP U/mg), Dextrose.

  • Hi OP,

Any deal on any of the 2.35kg natural WPC unflavoured?

    • Hi batrarobin. I just double checked and cannot see the Scitec Whey Protein Pro Natural available any more from our supplier, and it's been taken out of our system. We have an unflavoured WPI available in our brand. However if you were after an unflavoured WPC specifically please let me know, I can have our team try to track something down for you.

      • Jay
      • Yes please, i would need an unflavoured WPC. Please see if this can be made available. Thanks

        • +1

          Here's a straight WPC:

Not exactly cheap, but it's straight WPC. We don't normally stock it and so you'd need to backorder it (ETA would be 1-2 weeks).

If you're looking for a bulk amount, I can check with the warehouse if we have any available in 20kg bags. If you're interested, please PM me with your email and I'll have someone get in touch!

          • Jay
  • OP how long does the store credit last? And what’s the standard expiry date on these? Thinking of buying a few.

And does anyone have recommendations on flavours?

      • Long expiry dates (2021 onwards)
    • Store credit doesn't expire. You'll get it back as Z Points which is store credit, you just apply it at checkout (or in-store).

Thanks @nismo re expiry dates. All 2021 onwards.

Just from where I stand, besides the standard choc/vanilla, choc hazelnut is a popular one in this range and a bit unique.

      • Jay
      • also, I've used oxyshred for some weight cutting… any alternatives you recommend? or energy boost supplement?

        • Oxyshred is a good product and very popular. You may also wish to look at BSN Hyper Shred, it's a good product, some caffeine in there with Acetyl-L-Carnitine and is good to take before your workout. There's about 250mg of caffeine in there, so it can be used as a low-mid stim pre-workout.

  • Can I stack codes? You got those pancakes on sale, but I'd be keen on a tub of this! Good value for $50.

I grabbed choc hazelnut a while back and it was ok, any recommendations?

    • Sorry you can't stack codes in the same order, but yes we do have the pancakes on sale at present which are awesome :)

Choc hazelnut I quite liked. I also quite liked the banana and this banana is fairly popular with our warehouse team too.

      • Jay
      • Yeah, 12 units of Pancakes for $17 with free shipping!

Otherwise I have to spend $120 for free shipping! Annoying lol

  • Anybody have some flavour recommendations?
I assume like most brands, that chocolate and vanilla would be safe bets.

    • Choc and vanilla are the top sellers. Personally speaking they are both very good flavours.

      • Jay
      • Ended up making an account and ordering one of each.

        • Oh great thanks for the order damontyler!
