The Gen 1 sound quality is terrible once you compare it to gen 2.
Will be a lot of places offering cheaper and cheaper Gen 1's now that the Gen 2's are out.
I've got both and don't notice any difference in the sound quality.

Get them cheaper at bunnings and officeworks. You can go to jb hifi, HN, or TGG for price match. It's good enough to use and connect to your existing Bluetooth speakers as replacement to chromecast audio.
Looks like most have already matched. JB and TGG are $39. HN is $38.
This is not really a deal anymore, it's going to be the standard price due to being supersede by the new Nest mini.

My old Gen 1 Google Home Minis have become less sensitive to my voice lately in a noisy situation. They used to work really well, but now not nearly as well in a noisy room.
Really annoying!
Sometimes I almost have to yell at it.Seems they have done this to get people to buy the new version perhaps?
Has anyone else noticed this?
The ones in quieter rooms still work OK.
FYI This is the Gen 1, Gen 2 has a better speaker and mic, as well as offline commands etc.
