  • This feels like free marketing - not a deal per sae - each to their own

This $50 ARPU target is getting silly.

  • +4

    still overpriced

  • 50 seems high.
I'm paying 36 with Optus. 30gb but who needs 60gb.

    • +2

      $35pm/50gb here with Telstra.

Also got $200 JB credit to go with it.

      • Where's this deal?

        • +1

It was this one mate: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/407199

Got a $10 discount on top for porting from Optus although it took a few attempts to get a Telstra chat rep that would approve it.

      • But no peace of mind data?

    • Each to their own, I'd pay extra for the Telsta reception where I live any day.

Paying $40 with Optus for 80GB of data with Unlimited International Talk & Text and 4GB of roaming data. None of their current plans are anywhere near these.

These plans are some of the cheapest Telstra has done in a long time though, the JB hifi port in deals are the best value.

  • I got my plan changed ($65 plan) which I got from JB HiFi for which I had got $500 bonus gift card. Now it's showing $50 p/m but with the reduced data of 15GB. No cancellation fee nothing.

    • Now switch to the $60 plan to get the extra data while you will only pay $50 a month

    • Ahh can you share who and how you got it changed?
i've contacted 10 online reps and 2 store reps and they all tell me it cannot be done.

Apparently they rolled out some new stuff which prevents this. Forcing me to pay 367 ETC.

Im on the $65 JBHIFI deal with 500 Voucher.

  • I discussed this online on Chat. They were the one's who let me know I could get the discounted price. I let them know that I got $500 gift card & if I will have to pay it back or any cancellation fee but I was assured no and that on top wouldn't be in contract meaning I can cancel the plan any time I want. Try chatting.

    • Did this happen recently?

  • I am currently on the 60$ plan..and asked telstra if i could get this 10$ discount offer. Answer was no. :( Not fair!

    • Check the website. The description says existing telstra customers as well. Not sure why they would refuse.

      • Welll here is their response…

Hi x, thanks for waiting. I was able to have it verified to my supervisor and yes you are correct promotion is for new and existing customer who will add or transition to a plan $60.00 or higher. Apologise for the misinformation a while ago.

In case on your current plan which is already in the Medium $60.00, you can take the promotion if you choose to upgrade on the $80.00 large plan you will be eligible to the $10.00 discount.

In regards with the question that you had for downgrading to $50.00 then changing it to $60.00 you can do that, but promotion won't apply on those cases, cause by the start of the promotional offer you are already on the medium plan.

I know you want to take advantage of it as well, as much as I want to have this applied I won't be able to. I apologise.

    • That's not fair!

  • Any word of a JB deal?

  • If you're unsure if you're able to take up this deal, then proceed through the to purchase / signup page. It will show if there are any costs involved - at the top as a once off, or at the bottom of the page.

Changed my new plan from a few months over using this method.

    • I did this last night with 6 months left on my contract. No additional costs, and account now showing out of contract. Waiting a few days for my next bill to be issued to make sure no ETC mysteriously shows up. Fantastic!

  • Any luck with getting this to apply to the $65pm JB hi-fi deal currently? I've asked a sales rep, will see how it goes

    • How did the sales rep say?

      • They said nope - this only applies to specific Telstra plans, JB HIFI contracts are their own thing

        • Ok. Thanks for the feedback.

I found it did mention the Jb hi fi plan in the "things you need to know" section.
