I think it’s the same laptop, I’ve also heard other HP Omen laptops suffer from heat issues

Pretty sure any laptop with a serious gaming graphics card in it is going to have some thermal issues.

Yep I’m having issues with the same unit. Bought from Centrecom 2 weeks ago.

      • does it shut down randomly?
        do u get warranty replacement?

  • *sigh … wish I had extra money to buy this!

  • Does anyone know whether this laptop can do G-Sync over mini-displayport/usb-c? I want to replace my gaming desktop but have a 1440p G-Sync monitor that I want to utilize with this.

    • it doesn't seem to have nvidia optimus, which means the mini displayport is connected directly to the discrete graphics card, which means yes, it supports g-sync (through mini dp only).

  • HP are a rubbish brand, there support is not worth the hassle of owning one of their laptops.
