Excellent combo for gaming. Would take the 3200 upgrade as it is Ryzen.

  • Is this good for 3d modelling and 4k video editing?

Really any one of Techfast's machines over or around $500 is. Fast CPU and GPU's are provided in systems over $500

    • +1

No, you're going to need as much cpu cores as you can buy, an adequate video card assuming you aren't gaming, 32GB RAM and SSDs with write cache.

    • You would benefit from a higher-core-count CPU, like the 3700x/3900x. But remember, it wasn't that long ago that even enthusiast CPUs topped out at 4c/8t.

      • Depends on the software. Autodesk Inventor is not capable of using multi-cores effectively.

    • Depends on the software you are using. I know for a fact that Autodesk Inventor is NOT a multi-threaded software, so in that instance you'll want to get a CPU with the fastest single core speed.

  • Holy crap this is getting tempting. Might move my old R5 1600 RX580 computer to being the plex server. This deal would be significantly better for gaming.

    • sell the rx580 for 150aud and get a cheap old nvidia quadro card for 30 aud. A 1 slot one that does not consume power because it is just there to start the PC and that is it. Plex does not need an rx580.

Best bang for buck system. Got one for myself. Would love to see 1TB NVME upgrade at $99 like other the other blackfriday deals though…

    • Would the performance gains from the 1TB SSD to NVME be worth the extra $30?

      • Well it has a NVME slot so I would want to place a NVME drive there one day. I rather go with 1tb now as it fills up really quick these days. Better bandwidth with nvme will no doubt help with game/app loading?

Has 13 been sold yet? If i order now do i get it b4 Xmas?

    • Go for it.

      • ordered TECHFAST40572631, can it ship before christmas?

        • Guaranteed!

          • @luketechfast: Thank you

          • @luketechfast: Hi Luke, website says it's out of stock.
But I don't need it before Christmas. Is there any chance I could still get one? Or will you have a similar deal in the near future?

            • @Motoja: New deals coming next week for pre and post Christmas delivery!

      What's wrong with a 3500x and a 5700 xt?

    • +2

Depends on what you are interested in doing with your computer. I personally favour a faster CPU for video encoding etc, but for most games, 3500X really isn't all that different from a 3600X, but a 5700 XT is about 15-20% faster than a 5700.

    • +2

You're going to have to explain your reasoning better.

These is a gaming system, where GPU performance is far less important than CPU. In the vast majority of games, this system will easily out perform the 3600x/5700 system you've suggested.

If you want a machine more focused on productivity, Techfast have other builds based on the 3700x and with a lesser GPU for that.

I feel like if you're recommending a 3600x, you're the one who hasn't done the research. A 3600x provides 1-3% improvements over a 3600, while costing an extra 50-75 dollars more. While we don't know much about the 3500x we know it's comparable to the 3600, but with half the threads, and there is absolutely no reason to ever recommend the 3600x over a 3600, whereas a 5700xt is actually a fairly linear price/performance upgrade over the 5700.

      • I heard that you can flash the 5700 with 5700XT and it performs the same? havent tried this myself though so not sure how much truth there is to this.

        • This is true but say bye bye to your warranty if anything goes wrong.

  • Why do all your systems go with the R5 3500X instead of the R5 3600? Is the 3500X more budget-friendly?

    • +1

Yes, the 3500X is cheaper - mostly because it's not officially available outside of the Chinese OEM market. The main difference is the number of CPU threads supported - 3500X has 6 cores / 6 threads whereas the 3600 has 6 cores / 12 threads.

In heavy computational workloads, the 3500x is slightly behind because of the lower number of threads. In almost every game, the performance difference is entirely negligible.

      • Correct!

  • Got my Intel system on Monday! I can say I am quite satisfied, thank you TechFast! They even upgraded my case and provided a mouse pad for free!

    • Glad to hear it, thank you!

    @luketechfast

Im new to buying pre build computers online, what happens if it gets damaged in transit?

    • It will be covered under warranty and you'll incur no cost in the resolution.

      • Without any upgrades the package comes with a b350m, would I need to update BIOS myself, or is it ready on arrival without purchasing windows upgrade. ty

      • because thats the only thing stopping me from buying this whether i need to update the BIOS since its a b350m

        • Our motherboards are all preflashed and we install the Ryzen 3000 series CPU and the OS with drivers and stress testing, so it will work out of the box.

  • Is the 3200mhz upgrade still an option if I purchased this during black Friday and it hasn't been built yet? I heard it worth upgrading for ryzen builds.

    • Yep. Email [email protected] but be quick as these systems are in build and shipping.

      • Legend just sent it, thank you!

  • New to buying a PC. Was looking for a system to effectively play Destiny on, along with using it for work (use of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign etc). Will this sort of system work efficiently for both? I assume its fine for gaming, the thing pushing me over the edge is if they will work well for Adobe multiple program use. Thanks!

    • You might be better off upgrading to the 3600 or looking a t the 3800X build for more threads or cores/threads. It will be worth the extra for productivity tasks, and our pricing is still far under all other prebuilts.

  • 13 up yet?

    • Order #TECHFAST41042631

  • Techfast's EBAY account appears to have been closed by EBAY?

    Not a good sign.

    What happened Luke?

    • -1

TechFast didn’t obey the rules and regulations of eBay so they closed their account. Specifically they registered to partake in one of the EBay sales but did not honour the coupon code discounts.

This is the most sour bloke on the planet - literally comments on all TechFast deals with a negative attitude. Get a life.
