$2159.5 for an iPhone 11, lmao

    • Only 20GB data too

      • +3

        But but but… "BOGOF"

        • +1

Preying on people who don’t think.

Telstra 12 month $500 gift card deals mentioned below will be better

    • +1

Take away 1 k for the Iphone and your paying $1160 over 24 mths for a plan worth around 50% of that at the best .
Opposite of what OZB trying to do .

    • This would be a terrible deal even if it was one phone with one plan at half this cost!

    • +15

You are right, it's not a bad deal, it's a terrible deal.

      • I think i read it wrong i originally thought it was 65 for 24 months for 2 iphones and a decent optus plan and assumed it comes with optus sports but it seems like it is 130 per month which is an absolute rip off

correct me if im wrong but 65 a month for iphones on optus with optus sports but i think i read the article wrong and if it is 130 pm then it is a fukn rip off

You almost got me there. Thought it was one $65 plan, buy an iphone and get an other iphone free. and then I realized its two $65 plans for 24 months!

    OPTUS:

    Plan cost for 2 services : $3120.
    Contract Term : 24 months
$999 for two iPhone 11's (64GB) which makes its $499 each.

Correct me if I am wrong….how is this to a JB Hi Fi offer which gives a $500 off any iphone on a telstra 12 month contract on a single service at $65 per month??

    TELSTRA JB Hi Fi:

Plan cost for 2 service lines : $1560
    Contract Term: 12 months
    $1199 for each iPhone 11 (64GB)

    • Just wanna correct. 4319-3120=$1199 for two iP 11 (RRP for 1 phone)

      • Ooops yeah! You're right! Thanks for that. My math skills arent on point this morning :)

Also, 20GB with Optus compared to 60GB with Telstra.

Title is a bit misleading, but the fine print clearly makes the Telstra offer a win considering more data and only 12 months on contract.

        • Why don’t people just buy an iPhone 11 at Apple store and sign up a 60gb plan with Telstra

          • +1

@Nathw: if you dont need a lot of data just boost 1yr which end up $1199 + $135(discount from time to time)

            • @dlovep: $825.5 saved, true ozbargainer!

  • +4

Or, wait till jb is doing the $65 plan with $500 gift card. Your cost is (1199-500+65x12)x2=$2958 on telstra with 60gb per month locked in for 12 months only.

    • Exactly!!

    • +2

Like, the deal that's currently happening now? Yeah, that's a much better deal.

  • +3

This is not a BYGOF deal. It is sign up for 2 x iphone 11 64GB @ $65pm each deal. Please change the title

    • Yeah, it should be one plan and two phones.

  • +6

So two iPhone plans for the price of…. two?
That doesn’t seem like much of a deal to me

  • +2

I thought all Ozb members would have known by now Optus plans ain’t cheaper than Telstra anymore?

  • +2

    stated minimum cost of $4319 (2 x iPhone 11 64gb)
equals $179.96 per month (2 phones 2 plans)
$89.98 per month per phone per plan

You can build your own plan on Optus at the moment & with a 64gb iPhone 11 costing $33 per month for the phone based on 24 month contract totals would be
    10gb @ $72 per month
    30gb @ $78 per month
    60gb @ $80 per month
    100gb @ $88 per month

    • Who would pay $57 for a 20gb plan?

  • This is a terrible deal!

  • With the new plans from Optus, costs have increased.

For example, they had the Huawei P30 Pro with 30GB data and no Int'l calls, unlimited local calls and texts for $74/month over 2 years.

Now the same plan will cost you around $100/month. An increase of around 25%!! Watch out , they are no longer as cheap as they used to be, and at times better deals can be had from Vodafone.

  • As the JB HiFi deals occur semi-regularly, you can definitely get an iPhone 11 for cheaper than this.
    This is not a deal.

Love it how everyone whines about overpriced Apple phones but loves similarly priced Android phones that are not only a rip off but also feed data to the largest data collector in the world who then sells access to that data so that you lose more money without havinhg any knowledge that this occurred.

    • Few times you've popped up now so had a look back at some of your comments.
You seem to have yourself a thing about you and your data.
Maybe you should get yourself that semi-launched Huawei with no google services so instead the Chinese government collects your data.

To be honest, can you completely cut out google? That means no sending emails to any Gmail addresses, no googling, no viewing YouTube links, no Google drive. Google Maps is off the table too, including if anyone sends you directions.

Would there be any results if you googled your name? I mean, you could find out but that would be using Google.

  • So is the monthly cost for the 2 phones and 2 plans together $130?

    • $4319 over 24 months for 2 phones + 2 plans = $180 for a maximum of 40GB data/month

  • +2

Lol? Is this a joke post?

  • It’s cheaper for me just to buy 2 phones, NO DEAL.

  • Hmmm…

TGG has an iPhone 11 for $1199. Add it to a $65 Telstra plan for 24 months and you get $500 off and 80GB of data. https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/telstra-mobile-and-broadband-… The minimum total cost is $2259, or $4518 for two (or $199 more, or $4.15 per month per service), but you get four times the data, visual voicemail, Telstra's (generally) better coverage and only need to buy one plan.

If you do only need 20GB, buying the phone through eBay (let's say $1079 with a coupon) and buying Boost for two years ($600) represents a saving of almost $1k over two years for two services…

I saw this at the Apple Store on the weekend and had to look twice as I couldn’t make out how it was offer or bargain!
