Team T-Force Delta MAX ARGB SSD 250GB $89 + Shipping ($0 C&C) @ PC Case Gear

50

I've been keeping an eye out for an RGB SSD for a while now to add a little bling to my PC.

Amazon and Ebay sell this for around 30% more so its nice to see a cheaper local price

This model now has a built in heat sink that's solved the previous RGB SSD drive heat issues.
They also have the 500Gb and 1Tb drives for $129 and $199

Looks like its using Samsung's 64L TLC (3D V-NAND) same as the 860 Evo. "Strange"

  • Only works if you have a good spot to mount it where you can see it. Most cases hide away storage bays under a shroud or behind the motherboard.. :/

Probably not the best bang for buck here but RGB fans might be interested! :P

I have an NZXT H400 case with one of those side mounted SSD bays on the lower front so it should look nice there. I'll post a pick here once the drive arrives.

Nearly finished with my new baby: https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/118337/75226/pc.jpg

My SSD's will be hidden behind MB tray :)

        • looks good

        • Looks good, ive got the same ram but 4x8GB sticks so lots of RGB. Paired with a R7 3700X's stock RGB Cooler, motherboard RGB and case RGB's its almost a disco.. The side mounted SSD will be the finishing touch to my monstrosity.

@vid_ghost: Thanks. I'm gonna add an RGB rear exhaust fan then I'm done. Unfortunately not allowed to use the PC til xmas. Wife's rules :(

            Also using a 3700X!

        • Nice work!

          • +1

@haikyo: Thanks. It's nice to have your nerdy handiwork appreciated lol

        • Great case choice :D

          • @Squirtle: I love it. It's probably a touch too tall, but otherwise it's awesome. I love the magnetic removable front and top for ventilation or silence.

        • How much extra performance does the RGB give?

        • What's that case?

    • Im gona put it in one of these I bought : https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/504434

      • You want a disco portable SSD?.. You may want to be sure its not overheating inside that enclosure as this drive was never designed to be inside an almost air tight plastic shell. :) Drilling some air holes on the top sliding bracket may resolve this if it even needs it. You will know if its an issue if the enclosure starts to heats up.

  • How are these as actual drives? Anyone own one?

      OUR VERDICT
While limited by SATA, the Delta Max RGB still delivers responsive performance and unmatched looks. If you're after an eye-catching SSD, Team Group’s latest RGB SSD is hard to beat.

      FOR
      Gorgeous aesthetics
      Solid performance

      AGAINST
      Expensive
      3-year warranty
      Lower-than-average endurance

      • Good enough for me hahaha

      • +1

Lower-than-average endurance its still much higher then the BX500 or any drives using QLC NAND and with even those drive unless doing video editing most people wont ever get anywhere near its end of life rating.

    Why

    • +1

Why RGB Ram, RGB CPU coolers or RGB case strips?

The one thing i find a little strange is Monitor RGB lighting. For me that's a nono.

      • +1

Isent that pretty much every monitor?

        • Nope. Only high end gaming ones look to have RGB logos on the backside or under the stand.

          • +2

@vid_ghost: Yes but the actual panel its self is RGB ;)

    • Cause there's a thousand other SSDs out there, they are differentiating somehow.

  • Next up : RGB PSU Cables

    • +1
      • The madmen put rgb in cables! I honestly can't believe it. After seeing RGB chairs and desks I thought it couldn't get worse but I was wrong.

        • There’s RGB everything now.

          • @Skramit: You can even do whole-room RGB using "smart" LED bulbs. Not sure if it's at all possible to sync the pattern to your rig though.

            Next: whole-house RGB?

            • @bai tu: My Philips Hue syncs with my Razer Synapse software

  • +1

How the previous one actually made it to market is mind boggling. Think it was Jays2Cents that canned it.

    • Well the first model was a rush job. It's nice to see they took their time with this 2019 model.

      • +1

Still, they knew what was being released, they must have tested it. It couldn't have been a surprise surely…

  • +2

Just some advice… don't buy this one for a lap top.
