Get it. I've had mine as my main skillet for a year or so. It rocks.

I have the griddle as well, but I only really use it for sausages.

    • How is the enamel holding up? I've got the plain cast iron one they had and it's been great

      • Oh, I have plain cast iron as well. My bad.

        I wouldn't choose enameled personally.

  • I want a red one

    • Pretty sure the red ones cook faster

Has to be… People go faster when they see the red signal.

        • Nah you are mistaken red with amber

  • Christmas for the wife sorted

    • You going to cook her?

        I’d say it’s for making a few steak sammiches….

      • You going to cook her?

Most likely she won't fit on either.

  • 5 year warranty 😱

I bought their Cast Iron Dutch Oven (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/498960) a couple of weeks ago and I'm very happy with it for the price.
This isn't quite as much of a bargain but considering they have a 5 year warranty and there's Aldi's everywhere this is another great deal.

You may not be dealing directly with Aldi for warranty issues after their usual 60 day return to store policy.

      • I bought a deebot vacuum cleaner from ALDI and after a few months it developed a problem whereby it would not spinning even while docked. Took it back to ALDI with the receipt and they refunded me the money.

        • And as the person you replied to said outside the 60 days you're probably dealing with manufacturer.

          • @deelaroo: Yeah, so my vacuum developed the defect outside of the 60 days…

You can still deal with Aldi under Australian law. It's their responsibility to chase up the manufacturer.

        Who must provide a remedy?
Sellers – Each sale is a contract between the
seller and the consumer. So if the seller breaches
the contract by providing goods that do not
meet a statutory warranty or condition, it is their
        responsibility to provide a remedy.
If a seller has to return goods to a manufacturer
for assessment or repair, the seller should arrange
        delivery

  • The cast iron finish is extremely rough and similar to sandpaper. Worth sanding briefly to smooth out.
