Fortis Premium Magnetic Flywheel Spin Bike $179.99 (RRP $349), Free Delivery @ Dick Smith / Kogan

90
SANTA

Found an attractive deal with this indoor exercise bike. I am looking for a magnetic spin bike with quiet in nature. I saw this price slashed almost 50% within past few days. Now using the promo code "SANTA", you could even waive the delivery cost that usually costs about $50. I could not find any details how heavy the weight of the flywheel is, but I like the total weight is just 22.26kg not too heavy to move around indoor. I ordered one but I could not comment on its quality yet. With this price and free delivery, 1 year warranty, nothing I could complain about.

+1 for keeping cyclists in their homes and off the road.

    • This happened to me a few weeks ago.

I am a safe cyclist and keep to bike lanes and shared paths. I'm lucky that most of my commute has a bike lane or shared path except at a roundabout (Millers Rd - Kororoit Creek Rd), which I have finally mastered not to pee my pants (lycra) every time I get to it…

Coincidentally, I almost got run over yesterday on my way home, right after that roundabout as a red P plate car was exiting the petrol station. I'll upload that GoPro footage soon…

      Edit:

And here it is - https://youtu.be/nXAYsoVJnrY

Bus cut in a bit harshly going in but you should have given way to the bus on the way out when it was indicating.

        Second one, just a knob.

        • agreed.. I'll vote bus fault on the way in, but far from 'safe cyclist' for attempting to overtake it on the way out

          • @SBOB: I am a safe cyclist but there are always moments of learning to be had. Next time I'll just wait.

        • Yeah +1 with your comment with the bus, I was looking behind so I wasn't looking at the bus indicator - lesson learnt.

          • @brotherfranciz: They probably did the same, did a quick mirror check and saw no cars and then pulled out about the same time you did. In your case I would have crawled once I saw the bus moving to let it pass then go to the bike lane- but I don't know what was behind you.

Nothing wrong with overtaking the bus if it's parked because it could be there for a minute, I just think being more defensive when you see it move is the better choice.

            • @bxpressiv: The road was all clear behind us.

Yeah definitely agree with being on the defensive side - at the end of the day, I'm the only loser in any incident involving motor vehicles!

      • I learnt many years ago as a cyclist. The laws of physics over rule the laws of the land every time.

        • Same as in a car, I don't care if I'm in the right but that truck is much bigger than me so it wins.

    Not a peloton bike

Can I buy this one for my wife?

      • Does she want one?

If not, she’s probably gonna think you think that she needs to lose weight.

        • We have a home gym and she does want a new one.. but my post was referencing the backlash over the peloton ad

  • Is the emergency brake lever in case a motorist pulls out in front of you?

  • I grab my popcorn..

  • Are these any good? Considering getting one

  • Looks like Kogan price matched

Cashback available with them through CR (Oh, first customers only I just saw, not as good..)

    Considering grabbing one myself, cheers.

Not sure it counts as a price match when it's the same company…

Don't listen to the spin, I bought one of these to ride to work and was sacked after 3 days for arriving late. It would move a lot faster if the little front wheels were actually on the ground when pedalling instead of up in the air, bad design.

Cheap exercise bikes and rowers are always bad. If you must buy a second hand commercial model.

    • Yeah. I am just a beginner. If I become a heavy user and it breaks, I would consider a 2nd hand good commercial model but they are usually hard to come-by and outside of my budget.

    • Having it delivered to your door may be more important to some

  • Does the seat adjust forward/back?

    • +1

i think so. The spec said it has adjustable saddle and handlebar. According to manual, the seat could be adjusted up-down, front-back.

  • Where do you put the SANTA code ?? I cant see the discount code box anywhere :(
