From the site:

We go out into our organic garden and pick our super-nutritious organic leafy greens… silverbeet, kale and broccoli. We dry the greens carefully and blend them, along with incredibly nutritious and clean-energizing organic Green Yerba Maté leaves, into wonderful organic peanuts, fresh-ground organic peanut butter, oats, rice bubbles, powdered milk…and vanilla, butter, salt and baking soda, along with the healthy sweetness of local honey, barley malt and carob….(a healthy alternative to chocolate!)…and there you have it, the best Green Energy Bar that you can find…

From me:

I have been eating these bars for 6 years. I first got them at the Woodford Folk Festival from the Common Ground restaurant/shop thing.
They are a legit meal replacement. My family have been eating a pack of 5 a week, and have been for years, and we still aren't sick of them, actually fear sets in when we run out.
Shipping is expensive so we buy 10 packs at a time, store them in the freezer and take out a pack at a time in the fridge. That's a lot if you have never had them before.

I have never seen them on sale before.

$22.95 shipped for a pack of green muesli bars is not going to go down well with the junk food crowd here.
    Edit- oops , forgot discount.

    • +1

      Shipping is $10.95 for me.

Yeh , I forgot the discount. Kill me now.

Yeah, it’s more for the health food crowd than the junk food ones.

It’s hard to find small scale, consistent, organic products.

Any place to try these or anything similar to try?

Don't want to spend money only to find that I don't like them.

Shouldn't these have to include a nutrition panel?

You can't say "full of antioxidants, enzymes, chlorophyll, real clean energy, live vitamins and minerals…" with 0 proof.

    • +2

It’s a small organic farm business, but yeah, they should have the nutritional panel by law.

There are some photos of production here:

might be considered a vitamin & supplement, which isn't regulated very strictly.

      • +3

It's a 60 gram muesli bar, calling that a supplement and not a food product seems a bit preposterous.

    • +2

      Live vitamins and minerals?

    • Good point. We have the new packaging now that includes the nutritional panel. I'll try to upload the panel to the website - just gotta figure out how

I take them on the plane so I don’t have to eat their food, and they definitely get a double look at customs.

It's not that kind of green mate

    Thanks OP.
Used to get them all the time at a market in Sydney but now live up the coast. Tried to make our own and just not the same.
Great product and bought 10 packs to freeze.

    • Thanks!

Its amazing what people bulk up with baking soda

Energy bars, coke, meth, heroin - the list goes on

    • +3

You just listed the ingredients to my own home made energy bars

    • we tried making without baking soda - just comes out too heavy, hard to chew. Not trying to bulk it up - just lighten it a bit… But if you have a better suggestion - will be happy to hear! :) Have you tried them? Contact me via greenbars.com.au and we will send you a free sample!
