But will Good Guys honour it? Lol

  • Couldn’t find a comparison vs the R7 model what is the difference?

      100hz vs 50hz

      R6 100Hz + Direct light, R7 200hz + Elite Black light

      • From what I'm aware I won't really be able to tell the difference between 100 or 200hz, however I'm not sure about the "Elite Black Light"? Is it worth it the upgrade/price difference?

        • i have both the P7 and R6, the difference between 100Hz and 200Hz when watching sports is day and night

      • Both R7 and R8 are edge lit TVs..Not backlit..The R9 was supposed to be a fully backlit TV but hasn't been released in Australia yet.

Don’t confuse smooth motion rate with actual hz panel. The r6 has 100 smooth motion rate (50hz panel) vs r7 200 smooth motion rate (100 hz panel).

    • The R7 200hz is also better for sports viewing.

    • R7 looks a bit nicer with the brushed steel bezel. Definitely looks more premium.

      • Ah glad I've asked, that definitely matters to me, thanks,

Bit disappointed with the Hisense TV's, came from an LG and the software/apps on the Hisense are awful/non-existant (Prime, Disney).

    • -3

Why? Bought a p7 last year and it’s by far the best vfm tv in its price range.

      • +3

        Why?

If you read the comment, I mentioned the software/apps are shite, never said anything about vfm, it's an awesome tv size/price, but the software is crap.

Try Vodafone Android TV box for $72. You get full Android TV experience with the box but the only downside is no updates. Other similar priced box is the Xiaomi one. If you want to spend more then get a Nvidea shield box.

          • @koolchamp81: You still get app updates through google play but not system updates.

          • @koolchamp81: A good workaround but much better to run built-in Android TV. No just less hassle but better quality, assuming your TV has good hardware. I run a VTV through my Samsung TV, and while it opens a whole world new of Android streaming apps, if the same app is available on the TV, the picture quality is noticeably better. I also have a Mecool android TV box, with auto frame rate and better hardware than the VTV, but the TV still wins out.

        • Software is good, I use Netflix/YouTube with no issues.

    • Hisense propriety smart software (Vidaa) is crap like all non Android based systems. It’s a hit or miss in terms of speed/functionality. Hisense has released a RG model which has android os, and reviews say it’s a pretty good entry level TV.

      • I’ve heard worse stuff about android tvs lol

      • Hisense TVs in the US almost all run Android TV. We're being palmed off with the inferior Hisense software here, at premium prices usually.

  • I use this with an nvidia shield for my other tv, its great.

  • Just grabbed one for my Father - thanks OP.

Does anyone have any recommended settings/calibrations for this display to give best picture/audio etc quality?

    Thanks in advance

  • Sorry forgot to ask – whats the current feedback on transporting largish (only 65" but still) LEDs lying horizontally? Ok to do or potential screen breakage?

I know plasmas were an absolute no-no due to heavier glass in display – unsure if ok with LED or not. Likely picking 65" up for Father in family car and don't know if vertical will be viable.

    Thanks in advance.

Personally I would not buy a dodgy Hisense TV. I’ve owned 3 and they are terrible!
