      • The page http://dicksmith.com.au/offer/3ds has no items on it.. all sold out? Doing a search for 3DS in the search bar also doesn't bring up the console itself

      • I can get to DSE web page now.

        But cant find the 3DS!!

        • should we start negging now? :P

          I've held my +ve vote so far…

Where can I trade in my ds?

  • Grabbed the last black 3DS at Dick Smith Bourke St, they had around 3 blue ones left this morning.

  • Jeez… Still cant find on their website!

    • Sold out online

      • OzBargained without being online more like it

      • still available

  • Big w would match the price if you bring the catalogue
Big w also sell nintendo3DS bundle with super monkey ball 3D for $247
Or the game it self for $44.84

  • Do I get $50 back from Amex if I bought this item from BigW once I have registered with Amex for the promotion?

    • if above $250

  • its available now - http://dicksmith.com.au/product/YG4272/.jsp

Plenty of stores have stock and click to collect it available.

  • will an ACEKARD or R4 card work on the 3DS?

  • I'll wait for the Vita. I've had a bad experience with Nintendo recently and have found the last good nintendo platform was the SNES. After that it all went downhill.

As a company, Nintendo is dying. They're re-releasing 20 year old games with very few changes, as if milking gamers out of our their sentimentality.

      What's eight times eight?

  • Price matched it at 8am-ish at JB (The Galleries Victoria, Town Hall). They didn't even bother calling up DSE to confirm, just accepted it. Nice enough to throw in the accessories pack from their original bundle free of charge. To top it off, got 3DS Zelda + guide for $59 as opposed to buying them separately for $59 and $33 respectively, after I mentioned the bundled price on the JB website (They seemed to not know about that part apparently).

No doubt they were very happy to price match the $199, considering JB has it on their sale for $198. :)
Well done with the bonuses though.

problem is there is not much games 3ds..
plus 3d isn't a must have, unlike the original ds touch which never had been done before..

  • if your not desperate wait until closer to christmas , will probably be $199 + game/accessories or both

  • Wait for xmas.

  • True and the flame red version will be out :D

should I get this or not?

It looks good price compared to 249 or whatever at big w, and after say dse will push it to 250
    normal price.

on the other hand, not much games for 3ds that is wow must have.
And nintendo can only rely on their next version of mario, zelda, mario kart 3ds to drive the system again.

Essentially we keep playing the same games again and again..
updated of course..but the same etc.

not much complaints cos those games are usually the best rated and really fun.
but for some reason with the 3ds I am not as excited as the original touch.
also their problem is there is not demo of the 3ds in action at any stores.

With the original, you can see the touch technology in the tv ads etc..

Also with reviews e.g on Good games saying sure the 3d was wow when seeing the new scene. then I turn it off etc..or some people getting sick/eys strain from looking at the 3d too long
or the health warnings from nintendo..

all this doesn't make 3ds too apealing.

Or maybe I just lost the fun of wanting to play handheld games nowadays..
but I find I use use my ipod touch etc.. more nowadays then any handheld consoles..cos they give u everything in one device…

I do hope handhelds don't die though, cos everyone knows how bad playing some games on touch are with those onscreen controls etc..which cover the screen stops u from seeing your character, or getting the tactile feel.
Thus alot of the really good games (that need dpad controls) on ipod touch just suck to play with.

Anyway I hope the psp vita might might be good.
But that touch back panel is pretty dumb idea.
I don't see it being use for anything useful other than gimmick stuff like climb up the rope/wall etc….
