The title makes it sound like the deal is the plan and the phone is just a bonus XD

I like this selling feature ….

    • (no peace of mind …)
  • +5

    Read that as unlimited tiktok

  • Wishing they did the $500 voucher as well.

    • They do that too

    • +1

I have signed contract with The good guys, they still have the gift card $500 to use on anything in store, you may need to check with your local the good guys
I did it on Monday this week
Better deal $65 per month for 12m contract, 60gb internet and $500 gift cards from the good guys

      • Does this works out to be 5g per month?

        • +2

          Its 60gb per month

  • It says we need to "port in" a number. Anyone know if coming from Aldi Mobile (which uses the Telstra network) considered as porting in?

    • +3

yes it is considering as porting in

  • I have two months to go for my Catch Connect 12 month plan otherwise I'd jump on this. The phone on it's own is going for $899 on mobileciti outright and $979 outright at Good Guys.

  • +5

So theoretically you can just cancel this, and may only pay the $390 termination fee?

Would be great value if so!

    • Yes, just port out and voila.

    • $390 + $99

      • And also add the $65 for the first month as I assume it starts when you sign up and ported the number over.
The total cost would then $554

  • This seems a better deal than the Jbhifi $500 gift card offer. As long as you can sell the phone for over $600.

Does anyone know if the phone is unlocked or locked to Telstra?

    • +1

Unlocked id assume, they use the floor stock. I picked up an Oppo on the deal a few weeks back and it's not locked!

    • +1

Sorry I might be misunderstanding something. So if you value the phone at $600 and you minus the $99 fee, then you end up with about $500 in value. So how is this better value than the $500 gift card offer from JB?

      • $600-$99 = $501!

That $1 might go a very long way for someone!

Depends how far they can throw it.

(Also it would be $501 cash as opposed to $500 gift card. Both have their value, but the JB deal is limited to shopping at JB)

      • +1

dont think this phone is quite popular.. maybe hard push to get $600 resale value, more like less than $500

  • +7

They love rebooting this kind of deal rebooting this kind of deal rebooting this kind of deal rebooting this kind of deal rebooting this kind of deal rebooting this kind of deal

    Never again lg

    • +1

why never again? what was your experience>

      • +7

        Sounds like a boot loop.

      • +1

        I'm guessing bootloop

      • I think it was a bootloop.

      • -1

I don’t think LG has ever made a mobile phone worth buying. Happy to be corrected.

    • +1

This is the perfect phone for you since you both bootloop and will be in sync. 😉

    • Never forget. I had the G4 which had this issue. Also had g6, g7 ,v30 and ask were fine

  • Would've been a good deal if it came with the second screen

    • +1

      That's the G8X or the V50. Not the G8s.

      • +1

        Doh.. thanks for the clarification

  • +2

I don't understand why we need to go 65$ plan (12 month) with 60GB data when Telstra itself offers contract-free 60GB for 60$/month. Not talking about this phone deal.JB and GG have to come up with a better deal now.

    • it's currently on special from Telstra $50 for 60GB (for 12 months)
      https://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/sim-only-plans?ti=T…

      • +1

Know if you could contact Telstra after to get the plan adjusted down?

    • Depends how much you value the phone or gift card.

    • Because you either get $500 gc or a brand new phone.
$65x12=$780 minus the gift card $280. Why would you get directly from Telstra?

      • -4

500$ GC is for 24 months so minimum cost is 1560$-500 = 1060$/24 ~= 45$/month but you'll be locked for two years. Secondly, GC is only good if you need to buy something

        • Jb hifi it’s only 12 months and free $500 to be spent on anything you want

          • +1

            @fozzie: I just got this, and bought a P30 pro for $500!
            Port in = $500 GC
            New number = $400 GC

            • @Headless: How'd you get P30 Pro for $500? It's $1299 at TGG right now, with GC $799.

Am I missing something? I'd love to know since I've been waiting for a good P30 Pro deal.

              • @smogg: P30 pro was $1049 at JB
                Minus $500 = $549 :)

                $1299 is above retail price

                Shop around!

            • @Headless: @MrChum

Which TGG has $500 GC, my local one only has $400 GC??

              • @Yoo05: JB gave me $500

                This TGG isn't as good

        • Get your fact right first m8.

  • I'm keen on this but does anyone know how i can get out of my current Optus plan which is to end in May 2020 (currently at $245 device payment)

    • +1

      Pay $245 device payment?

      • -3

Nah man that's what i don't want to do. Surely there's some dodgy trick out there

        • +3

          lol… it's ozbargain here not ozdodgy ;p

        • you've signed a contract, other than paying ETC you're stuck. I wish I could do the same with my $59 Google Pixel 2 XL plan :( Also ends in May

        • You purchased a device at an agreed price, PAY FOR IT. Otherwise don't agree to buy it.

  • Want to jump on this but should i hold off for boxing day sales?
Hoping optus do a phone special so i can data pool with 4g mobile sim

  • Is there anything with peace of mind? Lol

  • +2

Just be aware the G8S is not equipped with the quad DAC and has a lower resolution screen compared to the regular G8 (not released locally).

  • +1

Is this really a deal, or just one of their usual offerings and happens to be a LG this time?

  • Just LG?

    • Jb was doing S10e for same $99. Not sure if expired though

  • If LG G8x then it would have been a good deal.

  • -8

can I somehow filter out these repeating Telstra $65 deals?

  • I even managed to get the $10 port in discount on the plan after 31 days with optus. It took 2 phone calls with no success. Got it on the chat. 3rd time lucky.
So that brings it down to $13.33 for 60gb a month. Gotta be happy with that!
