When are we going to start seeing some deals for the 2019 version :-(

When the 2021 version is released XD

The 2019 version provides only a few additional benefits anyways. CPU performance is exactly the same.

      • I have the original version bought in 2015. Starting to have lots of issues, most annoying things like random sound crackling that requires a restart, my TV remote barely works anymore either. The biggest thing I am looking for is the AI Upscaling which won't be included in previous versions. I am also fairly certain there is a significant CPU boost.

        • Not sure about the 2015 version but when it comes to the 2017 version that it's found that the 2019 version only has a marginal CPU performance increase in benchmark. You wouldn't notice the difference in real life.

        • Same…I'd get it for the AI upscaling, but it's a damn shame there's not much else improved

An nvidia rep said it was due here in Aus in January. Not long now

      https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/shield-tv/9/3234…

      • Thanks for the link, that's great news.

    • The remote is supposed to be a lot better with the new model.
Since Nvidia's update around 6 months ago, my remote continually disconnects and there is a long pause before reconnecting.
Having said that, Nvidia's app is awesome.

      • I stopped using the remote from the 2017 version as i got sick of having brand new batteries drained flat in a week after inserting it even if lightly used. And just chucked it out. I'm just using a game controller to control it now. There was some thing seriously wrong with the 2017 remote and battery drain.

  • Picked up a G20 remote on eBay for $17, much better than the shield remote. Does use a USB port though.

  • If it ain’t 2019 model then forget it because 4K upscaling is NOT insignificant.
