    Screen Definition High Definition
    Screen Resolution 1366 x 768

    Deal breaker.

    • Ditto.

    • Lenovo website has this as the following?
      https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/laptops/ideapad/ideapad-s-serieā€¦
      Display - 14.0" FHD TN (1920x1080) anti-glare 220 nits

Actually could be a slightly different model.

      • Different models. Happens all the time. Unless you want to take a punt on the off chance HN's own description is wrong?

    • Sometime even like this they give you a good picture, full hd not always gives you perfect quality.

      • I'll admit there is variation in FHD screens.
But there is no 1366*768 resolution screen I know that would be worth buying going into 2020.
Come on, my iPad from 2012 has better picture quality than this. Laptops still shouldn't be made with these low quality screens.

        • I know but no many full hd at 599 around, for primary students or some pensioners price is the first thing they look. Happy holidays!

          • @Laziofogna: There's quite a few around actually if you know where to look.
Price being my first thing I look at, then screen resolution and processor.

Key is to look out for Bing Lee/TGG etc 20% off eBay deals or other gems like this

            Happy holidays to you too!

            • @pennypincher98: That is not comparable at all. It's an i3 and half as much storage. I mean a nice resolution screen is good to look at while the thing loads cos it's slower and has no hard drive left… But your not comparing apples, with apples

              • @pete1812: It's an i3 10th gen. This is an i5 8th gen.
An upgraded SSD costs like $50. Still much cheaper than this thing, and that's just the first one I found.

Obviously I'm not going to do your own research for you. Look for a laptop that suits your needs.

But looking at one of these low quality screens all day will drive you crazy. How many people need more than i3 10th gen offers? You won't find anything else under $500 like that for sure.

Why do you think one has 13 upvotes and the other over 100?

  • theres an A6 version for only $488 with bonus star wars game, how slow is it compared to i5?

    • +5

Short answer - very. This i5 CPU is excellent.
The AMD A6 is going to be at best about a third as powerful.

Steer clear of everything AMD which is older than their 'Ryzen' range - it's really only the last year or so that AMD have made anything worthwhile for a laptop.

  • Is it a good laptop? I really need one like this. Go with this or the one with A6 Processor?

    Thanks

    • See above. i5 is much better than A6.

      • Even though its not full HD? I like specs but resolution is low. Still worth? Any other option in same price?
        Thanks

        • +1

Personally, I wouldn't buy this laptop because of that low quality screen.
But don't get an laptop running an A6 processor. It's not worth it.

If you can wait for a Bing Lee/TGG 20% off eBay deal or if you can't, maybe you'll get lucky. Of the top of my head, I can't think of anything but have a google.
