Sony 65" TV KD65X9500G X95G 4K Smart TV $1849.99 @ Costco [Membership Required]

730

Since this TV is so popular here, even cheaper @ Costco (if you already have membership)

Saw like 6-7 different TV sales in 1 hr while I was there.. Few others on cheap price as well but didn't take pics.

This TV also got the Apple Airplay 2 and HomeKit firmware update a week or so ago

This is part of Boxing Day Sales for 2019

    Thanks, very helpful!

  • Good deal! Did you happen to see what the 55" was going for?

  • Annoying the 65 is so cheap yet the 55 isn't getting the same loving. Need for a spare room. If I go this route over an LG OLED I'll bypass the Shield, but a part of me would like to the variable refresh rate stuff.

a part of me would like to the variable refresh rate stuff.

I agree it's nice, though apparently not needed.

      • Thanks, you are probably right, but I already have x95s in other rooms, so seems more interesting to try the new tech. I'm more intrigued to see how next years Consoles benefit from it…

X95 is still my favourite TV though. Excellent bang for buck.

  • Awesome deal!
I think this TV hits the sweet spot for price vs features/brand/quality etc.

  • Was Costco open today?

    • yep.. not anymore :) deal is till 31st..

      • Which state are you in? Pretty sure nsw Costco were closed today

        • Aah.. right.. was open in SA / VIC / QLD.. Only NSW was closed

          • @its: Do you actually need to load these tv's onto trolley yourself?

            • +1

@auszulu: Just ask and they will gladly help you all the way to your car and even help load it..

atleast they did for me last 2-3 times I bought TV from there or other bulky items

              • @its: there's no delivery option right?

                • +1

@fredblogs: Not from costco.. but generally on their wall they have business cards of people who can do it.. or you can ask and they will tell you the people who can do it ..

Or just find someone on Airtasker to meet you there with a pickup van if you don't have a mate to help!!!

Anyone see the other TV specials?

    • They also had:
      -55" Sony X7000G $779
      -65" Sony X8500G for $1,699 and the Samsung RU7100 in 55", 65" & 75"
I don't recall the Samsung prices exactly but I think it ranged from about $900 for 55" up to $1,400 for the 75"

There was also another LG 55" for around the $900 mark and I'm sure there was a few deals on the more expensive TV's but I was looking below 2k price range. I actually ended up picking up the X9500 and have to say I am totally blown away by how good it is. Glad I chose to spend the extra couple of hundred on this over the X85. Viewing angles are amazing, really top notch TV.

      • Viewing angles is mentioned as a weakness of this tv?

        • I went through the rtings review of each television and had read that viewing angles were an issue. I can tell you the X95 that I bought from Costco has outstanding viewing angles. I would suggest going into the store and taking a look, it was very noticeable when comparing the TV's there. I don't know if they changed something in the construction or the panels since the rtings review but it had much better viewing angles than the Qled's and the Samsungs.

@TheGoodPart: Agree, I couldn't see what they were talking about either, it looked fine from an angle.

But then again - most LED tvs look the same to me in stores…

Asking for a mate. Anyone that's in Costco tomorrow to let my mate know what the price is on the 55" X95 model. My mate says in return his thoughts and prayers will be with you.

      • Can you send the thoughts and prayers to ScoMo? He promises to pass them on to whoever needs them the most. :-)

        • 👍👍😂😂😂😂

Just at Docklands costco and they didn't have a 55 X95

        • Not surprised. Costco do everything oversized. 🙄

  • How would this tv compare to the Hisense R7?

    • +4

X9500G > R7. Better picture, features and software.

      • Yep, not even a comparison.

    • +1

Not even in the same league
Proper FALD on the Sony vs edge lit local dimming on the Hisense
I have the Hisense R7 in the bedroom and to be honest, we don't even use it because there is such a stark difference between it and our main TV.

Would like to got this tv. Had a look at few online reviews and they mentioned issues with sound quality.
Can someone please share their experiences?

    • +1

IMO all modern TVs have really crappy sound. This is because manufacturers are chasing thinner TVs, and thin does not correspond to good sound.

I think a decent soundbar + sub is pretty much a requirement for any modern TV.

      • Still, any idea if this is much worse than other modern tvs, as some reviews mention?

  • Does anyone know if you can connect 2 sets of Bluetooth headphones up to it?
I've had conflicting reports of it.

  • Hi.Have anyone seen samsung soundbars q80 and q90. If yes, do you know how much they are going for? Also the hisense 65 inch r7 series tv? Would appreciate if anyone can let me know. TIA and May God Bless You. :)

  • Hmm this or the Hisense 65r8?

    • All good. They dont hv hisense at all. Visited the Epping store yesterday.

This or a packet of cucumbers?

  • Any recommendations for a wall mount?
Also - once it's mounted, is it still possible to access the cables?
