Not sure when Amazon AU sale ends (part of boxing day sales?), but the Ring website has theirs finishing 2/1/2020.

Cashrewards or Officeworks (5%) / Bunnings (10%) price beat.

Side note: Does Bunnings price beat online stores? 'So, if you find a competitor's lower price (including GST and delivery charges) on the same in-stock item that’s available for same-day delivery or collection, we'll beat it by 10%.'

  • Sorry Bud you missed your chance with 12% Cashback Boxing Day !

  • Sorry have to say it, these ring things are complete and utter rubbish, overhyped trash!

    • Hey. Can you elaborate more? How long have you had one for, and what issues do you experience?

    • +2

Sadly, have to agree. Had one of these setup in the driveway and it failed to pickup motion of a car being stolen right under it; yet it had picked up the neighbour's cat wandering by the day before! Ring support was pretty much useless and their "Advanced" tech support team wouldn't provide the device logs to ascertain device performance during the time period in question. All they could do was send me a Chime Pro and offered to replace the camera (which would require an electrician).

TL;DR These cameras are okay for the casual check of your driveway. They're not as much of a deterrent as you might think. Don't make the mistake of thinking these cameras are a replacement for a dedicated surveillance and/or security system.

    • I gotta say, I've had the opposite experience - motion detection has been pretty consistent for me. Ring released some software smarts earlier this year that identifies if the motion was a person or something else, which has been pretty effective at reducing the number of motion alerts I received. Picture quality was excellent. Only downside I've had with it is the ongoing $4/month fee to enable video storage, which is something that applies to all ring products. Maybe you guys had a busted product?

      • Nope, product was definitely not busted (picked up the neighbours cat) but Ring support weren't much help other than offering to exchange it (requiring an electrician again) under warranty.

  • Anyone have any recommendations for a smart flood light and sensor combo that works with ifttt and Google?

  • Bunnings dropped price to $278
