  • Oh great.. I hope to buy 5 tickets for our family to travel from Perth to Melborne on 22nd September 2011, and return Sydney to Perth on 26th July 2011. I didnt book on other airlines, hoping that Tiger will give better deals for us. When will Tiger start flying From and To PERTH?

    Thanks…

Not anytime soon if their recent behaviour is an example. They just axed all Canberra routes, cancelling all future bookings… just had to rebook at a greatly inflated cost. Learnt my lesson, Tiger are not worth the hassle unless you have time AND money to spare.

      • yeah kinda true, if they cancelled my flight i'd have wasted my return flight which is not though them as they would refund only the flight up.

wonder what happens if they cancel my return flight home as im not flying up with them…

  • Lol people are still game to fly with Tiger?

    • you'd think they would have to be slightly better after all the stuff that just went on…

Have they had any fatal incidents? Even a major incident? No, a lot of the big global airlines have had both. People still fly with Air France after their Rio tragedy.

Air France ? Look at FreKin Qantas with a Sh*t LOAD of Problems, does that stop people flying them ?

I have travelled Tiger International few times, no issues at all. Service was fantastic. But dont know about Tiger Aus as always prefer JetStar. But we all have to agree, Tiger had a big influence over the price and lot us had the opportunity of flying cheap even with Virgin or Jetstar. Certainly Tiger exiting from the routes wont help the average person.

Housecat, etc: Fair comments. Pity 3 Tiger Airline workers neg'ed 'em.

I don't think it's special at all though. I've been on the lookout for Melb-Syd tickets and their prices are the same if not slightly higher than it was before the grounding incident.

    • agree'd im flying return for 50 bux next week with them…still not too bad though, 100 bux round trip…also price match fodder with jetstar. (10% price beat)

This is not really a tiger special. Tiger normally have specials for around $29 on this route.

    • Those prices will most probably not be repeated. As we have recently witnessed, it was unsustainable to carry passengers for those fares and maintain a safe and reliable airline service. Taxes on their new fares are now $34 alone, so anything less than this will be strictly once in a blue moon.

  • $49.95 is not a special, when tiger doing it price goes under $30.

"Tiger will be allowed to fly only 18 sectors a day (or nine return flights a day) for the rest of August, with any expansion subject to the safety agency's approval. Before the grounding Tiger was flying about 60 flights a day."

So my guess is to wait till next Month before they start a better promotion.
