Went looking for sd card deals for my incoming Wyze cameras and found this deal marked as expired. Figured I would have a look and see what the current price is and low and behold it's showing as AU$25.20 again. Also potentially 3.5% or 88c back from Cashrewards if the sd cards count as the Electronics category?

Text as per copied from the above linked deal;

Sandisk SDSQXA1-128G-GN6MA Extreme 128GB microSD UHS-I Card Adapter 160MB/s U3 A2, Black $25.20 + Delivery ($0 with Prime/ $39 Spend)

Here's the screenshot of my checkout. The $10 promotional thing was from a couple of days ago if you bought a $50 gift card. All up for 2x wyze v2 cameras and 2x sandisk extreme 128gb microsd cards it cost me AU$116.53 or $58.25 per camera fully loaded with way more storage then they could ever need.

    • Your first WYZE cameras?

      • Yes that's right. First plunge on any cameras of any kind actually. I've flirted with handheld cams for bootlegging shows in the past, and home surveillance for myself and others but never bought or got hands on with anything.

    • It would seem they’re quite out of stock.

      • +2

Click and collect worked well for me, they had it ready next day

      • +1

i've already got a notification to pick mine up from the store.

still in stock in quite a few Perth metro stores.

        • Yeah,…looks like both you guys got lucky. Checked two postcodes with many surrounding stores all out of stock.

    Same price as OW

  • Thanks for sharing - needed another one for the outlaws Eufy camera setup

New side project for scotty: OzBikiegang.com.au

    • I have used the SD card supplied with my original eufy 3 camera setting and the card still hasn't been filled after 3 months with over 100+ videos per camera per day (300 videos). Don't need to really upgrade the SD card unless you want 6 months+ worth of footage or not using the optimal battery saving feature.

Incidently 1 camera died yesterday at the 3 month mark after running out of battery power

      • +1

Thanks for that - very useful info 👍

I'm chasing long term retention and more frequent videos (care less about the battery life) so I think it's worth upgrading.

    • +1

I have one in my Eufy base. So far my system has been running for 90 days and has recorded 5365 motions and that equals 35.69gb worth of footage if anyone is interested.

  • this style any good for a dash cam?

    • +1

yes. i use sandisk extremes in a couple of my dashcams. the speed…glorious speed!

    • +2

the endurance series woud be more suitable

      • Good comment. Just read up and found some people have reported sd burn out when used in wyze cams. Will buy 2x 64gb endurance for ~$35 and maybe cancel my order for these ones

  • +1

These any good for the Nintendo switch?

    • The SanDisk Ultra is perfectly fine, better off with more space if possible

    • For Switch, Ultra is better in terms of both price and speed, even though Extreme is a superior card.

Google and people have done comparisons on both cards for Switch.

  • +1 for Officeworks. I bought mine on Boxing Day for my new drone

  • +3

    Take extra $1 off.

  • Thanks OP!

  • Thanks OP. Grabbed one for the viofo dashcam I'm going to buy (when a good deal appears)

    • +1

I have a Viofo A119S and use a SanDisk Ultra card. Works fine and it's cheaper. 128Gb card records around 12hrs of video.

  • +2

Price matched the OW price at Harvey Norman, just because Harvey Norman store is more convenient location wise.

  • Any 256?

    • +1

      Yes, but not as cheap/GB.

Samsung EVO Select might be good enough?

  • So these are better if you're writing a lot to the card, like 4k cameras?

    • +1

Dunno about using them in handheld 4k video cameras, but for especially frequent use such as always-on security cameras and other frequent write/overwrite scenario you want to get the high endurance cards apparently. The ones I've linked in this comment seem alright value for the 64gb size at $18 each but the 128gb version is $40 and you're probably going to need at least that or more for uncompressed 4k video recording.

      • +1

Opted to go with the high endurance card for my security camera but it seems that the Sandisk's ones got quite mixed reviews. Also the 64gb is not sold directly by Amazon. Finally I went with the Samsung Pro endurance instead, currently the 64gb has got a good price ~ $27 from Amazon AU (Officework's price ~ $55)

        • +1

Where did you read about the mixed reviews for the Sandisk? What did they say?

  • I ordered one on boxing day and it arrived on Friday (next day). Great effort by Amazon. As good as click and collect lol

  • 128 is sold out

  • You still can order at OW for same price $25.20 , I've just check it is available for CC at Punchbowl .
Edit : I've actually ordered 2 (click and collect) at Canterbury Rd Punchbowl everything went through smoothly .

  • Anyone know what the regular price at Officeworks is for these? Just wondering what kind of a hit they're prepared to take.

    • $35.40 - When these cards were at $25.20 the last time, OW were happy to price match too.

    • $48.

  • officeworks have also price-matched amazon on the 64gb version for $16.35: https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/sandisk-ex…
