Cheap. If you need 2m ones get 3 for $15

    • Thanks for that!

The 2M one doesnt support fast charge. I bought 3 and they charge my ipad slower than the short one.

      • I've used one of the red 2m ones on a ravpower 65W PD wall charger to run a switch dock. Switch needs 15V 2.6A to run in docked mode so the cable definitely supports PD so surely supports QC3.0 which is only up to 12V 1.5A?

You might have got a dud cable?

        • Which RAVPower 65W wall charger do you have? Great to know there are other wall chargers that can run the switch dock!

@CodeXD: Haha I actually bought it off your deal mate!

            https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/504938

I was skeptical originally because there were no specs or manuals for these chargers online and the images showing qc3.0 port were inconsistent (some in the listing showed 2 "smart ports" max 5v 2.4a, other images showed the green qc3.0 port) and I wanted qc3.0 to fast charge my phone.

In the end I bought the 65w as I thought if it doesn't have qc3.0 I can send it back free with plus. But it's great, the type c port can apparently do the full 65w of the charger (20v 3.25a) but I've only tested it with ~45w - docked switch or charging my Xiaomi pro 2 powerbank. I also tested it with my Samsung galaxy a20 connected to the qc3.0 port and the docked switch to type c and it was able to fast charge the a20 still i.e. ~57w output.

Theoretically it should also be able to run the 2 usb a ports at max wattage (30w) and output 30w via PD on the type c port at the same time.

Nice and compact too, only thing to be aware of is the Australian plug version (which they shipped of course) requires it to plug into the wall upside down, like the main body of the unit is above the socket not below it - really only an issue with oddly placed PowerPoints or some powerboards. It's probably better that way as often PowerPoints in hotels or airports are mounted low above counters so a big brick can't fit. Would recommend and apologies if I seemed negative on your deal.

@Wilburre: No worries, that's great to hear! A lot of these things work in theory but it isn't until someone actually buys it and tests it out that we can get real world results

              • @CodeXD: Yeah I think I was skeptical because I bought some ravpower micro b cables once and even they had a listing and manual and the ravpower website. In this case it's either that it's a new product or a product with qc3 and non qc3 versions and sobre probably listed the info and images given to them by ravpower but put the images for both versions.

To sobres credit the item was as described regardless of the incorrect images and it arrived really quickly as per what the eBay shipping estimation said, less than a week to CBR.

        • I bought the USBA to USBC, my bad. Gonna order this one as well.

  • Grabbed these from the black friday deal. Apart from the shipping being super slow (3 weeks from inside aus?!) the cables are great.
No issues, and they work with quickcharge fine :)

    • Try 2 weeks handling time and 1 week shipping.

    • I must have got lucky, 2x1m and 1x2m from last deal delivered in a week from purchase to CBR.

Without knowing the AWG of this cable you should not purchase it. At 3 amps on a 1 metre run you should be using 20AWG or the voltage drop (and hence power loss) will be too great. I have contacted the seller to try and find out since it isn't mentioned in the listing…not a good sign.

Since when does science get in the way of a bargain! Hmmm why are my house lights dimming…

hard to find some good cables nowadays

    • +1

It looks solid, but no USB3 data speed. Only 480Mb/s
      Does it exist?

  • Purchased last time, very nice.

  • I accidentally ordered these last night thinking they were the same as I ordered last time (USB to type C). Anyone know of a decently priced pd adaptor? Lol

  • +1

The last set I got, I had to push it a little harder than usual to get these into my phone/Ipad comparing to those cables that come with the device. I'm not comfortable with putting that much force to get a cheap cable into an expensive device so it is just sitting in the junk drawer now.

    caution when buying

I find this with Baseus cables also.

    • +2

I have these and don't have any issues. Just remember that if it goes in easy it's going to fall out easily too.

    • +2

I've never had an issue with any of the 30+ Baseus cables I've purchased over the last year or so. Very solid cables and they seem to be well built. The only negative is the slow shipping via the official Baseus eBay site.
FWIW I buy these for staff at work and they seem to last longer than the original Apple cables and other similar priced cables.

      • same here.

  • Happy with these cables I bought a while back!

  • why would you need three for?

    • +10

      You dont, you need six

    • 1 for me and give 2 away to friends, family. Sure they'll appreciate it.

  • Shopping square have a better deal with the 2m cables. Buy 1 get 5 free $15.

    • I dont see 2m cables in the buy 1 get 5 free offer

    • Maybe I was high, I can't find the 2m ones anymore. Maybe sold out. Either way they have the same deal for black and red of this cable for 15 bucks for 6. Can mix and match too

      • Any 3m deal?

    • 6 for the price of 1. They must be losing a lot of money on this.

  • link takes you through to 2 x 1m cables for $15

    • Description in deal says Buy 1 Get 2 Free (Add 3 to cart).

      • ahh yes … in the top right corner and yet the vendor picture and description says 2 x 1m …. doesn't really matter because they out of stock ;)

  • 6 cables is overkill.

    • Give them away as gifts.

  • Great product, love it.

  • Seems to be back in stock. Just bought.

  • Yeah back in stock. I just bought it by mistake thinking it is USB to USB C. Now need to buy adaptor for it. Bring it on!

  • Should be noted in the post that these are only USB 2.0 speed cables. Cheap if you’re just looking for a charge cable though.

    • These are rated USB PD 60W so no… Not usb 2.0 speed

      • That has nothing to do with the transfer speed. They are USB 2.0, says so in the ad if you actually read it.

        https://www.shoppingsquare.com.au/images/temp/(DS)CAB-BS-CATKLF-HG1-18.jpg

Apple’s cables will happily do up to 100W, also USB 2.0.

        • Can confirm it's USB 2.0, with max transmission speed of 480Mbps. I have one of these 0.5m cables. They are optimized for fast charging, but not for data transmission
