Thanks for your suggestion for alexa, i have passed your message to 360 team, hopefully they can do some change. 360 have really effective dock system, you will find out after you using the device.

      • Hey Rep, my unit arrived today, very impressed with the fast shipping. However I can't add the 360 skill to my Alexa because it says it's only available to US Amazon accounts. What's that all about? Voice control through Alexa was a big draw for this model for me.

        • +1

Regarding feedback of Alexa here, I have reported to 360. Got reply from 360 team will work on Alexa, should have big update for Alexa around Feb-March.

          • @Gearbite: Update so that it's available in Australia too? Is there any workaround to get it in Australia in the meantime do you know?

            Thanks for the reply rep.

            • @theknight27: Will update and it will work in Australia then.

    • How is the battery life in comparison. I have the 1stgen xiaomi and the battery has been great. The 360 can't even clean a 100 square meter unit without the need to stop and recharge

      • It came semi charged, I did feel like it was consuming more battery then the Roborock for what it used, but I could be wrong.
I'll validate tomorrow morning after a full charge with how much battery it uses and the m2 it covered.

I disliked that when it got to 20% it rushed itself back to the dock, and even when it recharged enough to cover the remaining area, it appeared to be waiting for a full charge so I needed to force it to go and finish.
I can't seem to configure it to make it say wait to drop to 10 or 5% battery before going back (gearbite can you make this a feature request to the 360 team plz?) I think that kills the autonomy of the vacuum since it'll need to go back and could be waiting for ages before going out to finish if you had it on a scheduled job over a larger area.

Another dislike with the app, is that there is some asian advert that pops up on startup which I think is for parts? But the link is broken, and you can't seem to skip it.
Then when you do a firmware update the change log appears to be in chinese so I have no idea what is being updated on the vacuum. (This was downloading the app via the QR code in the manual)

        • Agree, I think the rush back to the dock should be configurable

          • @testeagles: From full charge it did 40m2 in 42min with 51% charge remaining in standard mode, area is about 80% carpet with carpet mode switch on.
S50 did have about 55%-60% remaining for similar area size.

            • @Kav91: Thanks good to know. Was feeling the battery was a little weak but seems the newer models eat the battery faster. Gen 1 is really the best bang for buck I still believe. It's a shame the software lacked some key features of the newer models

          • @testeagles: i have give their suggestion regarding recharge solution a while ago. They work on this, the best solution is top up enough battery to finish clean, no need to top up to 80%. Regarding Ad, they told me they will remove the chinese Ad.

      • My unit take 1 recharge to complete an area of 217 square meters on powerful mode (max suction / most battery drain).

    • I am having trouble deciding whether to get the S50 or 360 S7. As someone who has both, what would you recommend? I was leaning towards the S7, but the server/app issues some folks have experienced about are a bit off-putting..

  • Got mine today.

I couldn't get it to bind with my (android) phone, but after a couple of hours of being frustrated I finally got it to bind by using a spare old phone. Luckily the vacuum binds to the account so I could still use it on my main phone. Later (much later) I found a comment in the Play store reviews saying that the work around to the binding problem is to disable mobile data on your phone. Since when I finally got to to bind it was on my old spare phone without a sim card installed I suspected that may be the issue that affected me. So I unbound the vacuum, disabled mobile data on my main phone, and this time it connected straight away.

With it finally working, I gave it a run through my unit, but I stopped it half way because I noticed a firmware update was available. I installed that, and it seemed to actually make a positive difference in object avoidance.

But now the HUGE problem I'm having, is it will not store any maps, so it will not separate rooms, which means I can't use any of the advanced room mapping functions which are the only thing that tempted me to buy this over a Roborock S50. I've let it completely clean my entire unit to it's satisfaction 3 or 4 times, but it still tells me that "a complete cleaning is required" before it will make any zones. It has a map on screen from what it's seen, but it will not record anything to the history list (other than 4 short early test runs, 3 post firmware update fwiw), which appears to be how it saves what it has seen as a map.

The vacuum itself does a very good job, but the software is utter garbage.
A hugely frustrating experience that is simply not good enough at this price point.

    • +3

A miracle! I woke up to find that the map has FINALLY zoned itself, and my history full of various cleans and maps.
Maybe their server was playing up yesterday?

Still a frustrating experience, but it at least it's working now.

      • I had the same experience. Initially I thought it was due to my pihole blocking the outbound but I too fiddled in frustration then woke up the following day to the map being available.

        • Funnily enough, I also use a pihole and thought it was causing the issue.
I disabled it for several hours but it made no difference, so I turned it back on before I went to bed.

      • Same thing happened to me, I had thought it was maybe because I needed to do another clean.
There app is masking issues that make it unintuitive to the end user to understand what is going on which is frustrating.

    • Looks like server delay. I have reported this to 360.

      • Looks like server delay.

Definitely looks to be the issue. Thanks for reporting it to them.
This morning after the maps finally appeared, I gave it a quick few runs to see if the history was updating timely, and it did so more or less immediately. But now the history has stopped updating again, and even the scheduled clean I ran at 10:30am still isn't showing in history 6 hours later.

        • +1

Can confirm history not showing for me either

Ordered from Shopro, super fast delivery as I've ordered last Jan 2 and it came the next day. Been testing it everyday since with the exception of the Mop feature. Here's my observation so far(This is my first robovac):

    • Every successful mapping depends on where you have initially put the Dock, do a full house clean, let it run on it's own, battery get's low, back to the dock, resume clean, reports that cleaning is completed(when message is master, the cleaning is complete) and back to the dock again - this will generate and save the map, add it to your favorites after. This means, if you have a multi floor setup, like me - mark where you put the dock on every floor (with tape or something ;) ) or buy a separate dock bec. shut up and take my money Qihoo.

Scheduling, Ordered/Sequential rooms cleaning is an awesome feature. I am not really bothered that blocking areas can only be done by drawing squares and not by drawing lines using the app.

    • Sensors seems working great - Either stops before colliding with solid obstacles or stops when bumper touches it. Fall sensor works great too, tried it on stairs. Removing the dust bin has a sensor too, you'll hear a "dustbin has been removed".
It ate a usb cable (and destroyed) it, sent me a message via app to clean the main brush. Climbing a slipper made it become stuck for some reason and sent me a message "Please clean anti dropping sensor and start far away…" since the slipper was kinda big and it was thinking it's about to fall. Danced around a computer chair and drew a flower based on my map trail in the app ;)

    • 360SmartAI App and Alexa - now this is where things need improvement(alot!). First, the loading screen when opening the app feels like an Ad with a skip button and as mentioned before, it's kinda laggy. There were instances wherein I have tried to reset/select a map and I will either receive a generic java IO or network error or No Feedback at all. So in order to quickly check if I have a good connection with the S7, I always press "Positioning" first so that I can hear the "I'm here" voice from the cleaner so I know that a connection is established. You can name your cleaner too, but I noticed that renaming will remove all saved maps for some reason(Why?)

Alexa - the weirdest part of setting up and I still can't make it to work. I enabled the 360 skill in Alexa, said the totally unnatural words "start cleaning from Smart Cleaner". Alexa just says "You have the 360 robot vacuum cleaner skill enabled, do you want to open it?" I answered YES - then ALexa will just explain what the skill is for, like an Ad. Won't even get any feedback from the cleaner after that. Tried it on an Echo Dot and my Phone.

    • Entertainment and cleaning doesn't go that well, the wife is complaining it's too noisy even in quiet mode so it's better to let it clean when we're at work rather then when we are watching TV/Gaming/Etc. but I am not even slightly bothered as our Dyson V7 on max mode is louder.

    • Genuine parts are available from Gearbite too

Overall, pretty happy with the first purchase of a robot vacuum :) Will test mopping next.

    • Thanks that's v helpful - mine is arriving today and I'm looking fwd to trying it out, I also have two floors and 500sqm house so saving maps will be important, I think I'll need 3/4 of them.

You say accessories are now on Gearbrite, is that on their ebay store as I don't see them?

I'll send some feedback after I've had a play with it!

  • Amazon has s60 priced for $720. Any update on s7 360 price

  • Anyone else have the 360 smart app show up as malware? Any concern?

    • It is Chinese government spyware that’s why

  • Does anyone elses vacuum change pitch every now and then? Sounds a bit like the voltage fluctuates

    • Did you open carpet mode?

      • Yes, I have carpet mode switch on. Is this the cause?

        • suction will be different at timber floor and carpet area.

          • @Gearbite: Yes, that function works. It happens every now and then for a split second then resumes the normal sound

  • OK, got this yesterday.

Have been pretty impressed and will do a separate review BUT…

Does anyone have a problem with sunlight?

Specifically Marvin was running around cleaning when he hit a patch of sunlight on the floor and quickly got stuck and asked to be moved.

Moved him again, as soon as he got to the sunlight he got stuck again. This time the app even suggested adding a no-go area as he'd been stuck there twice (good feature).

Set an exclusion and all was well for a while but the sun had moved, as soon as he hit another patch of sunlight he got stuck again.

These were clear areas of light coloured tiles, no obstacles, it was definately the patch of sunlight that got him confused.

    Bit of a pain tbh.

  • My 360 S7 is having trouble updating the firmware. It keeps getting stuck between 7-9% and then a popup says "Some minor problems occurred during upgrading." "Failed to download update file, please try again".

    Is the server down?

    • Nevermind this, fixed it by resetting.

    • server improvement will be done at in coming months.

  • Looks like software is very bad with 360 they need to fix it otherwise reputation will be very bad

    • I disagree, I'm finding the app pretty good, haven't tried Alexa yet but even though I have three of them around the house I might not bother.

      • Alex isn't working in Australia, so you'd have to change Alexa to US, and even then it's quite limited. I reckon the app is awesome and very quick and easy to use. Sure, it can use some improvement, but definitely not a deal-breaker.

  • Anyone having problems with the servers today?

I'm trying to add an off-limit area to one of my maps and I keep getting "request timed out".

    • Started working again after a few hours.

      • 360 have add task for the server, hopeful they will improve it shortly.

  • Is it safe to add abit of soap in the water tank for mopping?

    • I've been adding white vinegar. I don't see an issue because that whole water/mop attachment is not connected to the inside of the unit. It's a matter of would the soap cause the filter plugs to block and not let the water seep our during usage would be the main problem I could see.

      • Just bought as well. How much vinegar do you add?

        • I use about 1/3

    • soap could cause filter problem, please use water only.

  • Just received this, having issues where I cant delete rooms as it assumes the outside of my patio is a room. Having issues with connections (I have a netgear orbi) dropping out where I cant even control the robot. I am going to give it another week before I potentially return it. I have kept box and everything in mint condition for the return. Does gearbite pay for the return?

    • When mine started mapping I had the bathroom door closed, however it still made some sort of outline like there's something behind the door. If you're worried about it trying to clean that section which it shouldn't you can just block it off in map. Worse comes to worse just delete the whole map and let it remap again. But I don't see why it'll be an issue?

I also have the Netgear Orbi and haven't had any wifi issues. But in saying that my settings could different to yours. There is a slight lag in the app, from when you give it a command before it responds but no more than a few seconds really.

  • +2

OK, so here's my review after using this unit for a few days quite extensively.

The App: Its pretty good but does have some failures, it can "forget" changes you make, so for instance I've added off limit areas and found them gone the next day. The off limit blocking off is super useful. I also had the cleaner go "offline" last night, had to shut down and restart the cleaner to reconnect to it. The mapping is absolutely brilliant, we have a largish complex ground floor, it took about 3 hours to map but did it perfectly and can now clean the whole area in a couple of hours - this is the map https://imgur.com/a/fNMMvRB  it does need to recharge half way through.

Vacuuming: Very good. We have a Golden Retriever who drops a lot of hair, cauuming the house takes a long time so we do it about once a week and within a day or two you start to notice fur on the floors, this picks it all up and we just kick off a clean every night, the place is spotless. The bin is fairly small though and needs to be emptied every day or two. First couple of times it did get stuck on our bar stools and one of the tables so we blocked them off. I can now just move them and do a targetted clean on that area only. Made a great job of the carpets too.

Mopping: Better than expected, it doesn't clean stubborn stains but the flors are 100% better afterwards, also leaves some sreaks from the wheels on the brush and as the mop is not full width it can miss edges but but I had low expectations and the mopping exeeded them to the extent I'll be using it regularly, will try with a bit of white vinegar in the water too. Seriously, mopping is not a susbtitute for doing proper mopping but it is definately useful in between when you've got a large tiled area (most of the map above is tiles).

Problems: Had the servers offline a few times so can't save map changes etc, also a weird problem with sunlight (see separate post). I've somehow saved an extra map, over and above both floors and the raised area, and can't see a way of delting it, as you can save up to 10 not a big deal but annoying.

Overall I'm pretty happy after 4 days of heavy use/experimentation, its a huge improvement over the old robot vac I had, if it stays reliable, they fix the servers etc I'll be very glad I bought this, our human cleaner might be getting her hours cut!

    • Thanks for feedback, Server problem will be solve in coming months as 360 just start to sell in Australia. Xiaomi have server problem in the begin. 360 Team realise this problem and put server task at their job list, hopefully can have update in coming months.

  • Is anyone else having the same issue where by the robot enters the bathroom and then can't leave the bathroom as it believes the drop off is too high. Am considering returning this and buying the Xiaomi from gearbite instead. Lots of hugs still. Currently after sharing the device between my account and my wife's the robot is offline and can't be accessed. The wifi is working as I am posting now on it so not sure what the go is… Might have to take up the offer on the free return and repurchase the Xiaomi when gearbite has another deal…

    • The issue here is sunlight. You’ll notice that depending if you get the morning or arvo sun that it thinks it’s a drop and gets stuck. Told Gearbite about this as it’s a really annoying issue

      • Yeah, I've also experienced the sunlight problem, in my case it enters a patch of sunlight & just stops & asks to be rescued.

  • +1

Seems to be totally offline today, the bugs and relaibility are starting to get to me, considering returning if it doesn't improve.

    • I just noticed this too. It stopped halfway through a clean to get recharged and it did. Started cleaning where it left off and 5 minutes later it says master I'm going to get recharged. I think it's done this twice already but I wasn't home for the earlier one. Is this what you're experiencing at all?

      • When last I looked I couldn't communicate with the vac at all via the app, requests to switch maps etc timing out. Can't even see batter status. Have rebooted the app but to no avail.

    • I have talked to them again yesterday with head of their app team, they will looking to solve this.

      • +1

This is disapointing, its now been offline for most of the day and therefore pretty useless.

When it works its mostly good but not being able to rely on it is not a good experience.

  • We are getting the machine saying failed to bind to operator network.. does anyone know if thAts a server side issue. We have updated our Netgear Orbi to rule out any issues on side. We have not had any issues on any other devices besides the robot vacuum

  • I'm holding my order because of this issue. Anybody else has this server issue ?

    • Just for balance it came back online shortly after my last post.

I'll post again if it happens again.

  • New issue/question - Mopping.

As I said in my review above the mopping is OK, not perfect by any means but better than expected.

However, I've noticed an issuse which may be a fault just with mine or a general one.

I can mop an area say 3x4m OK (subject to comments above).

But, when it moves to a second area the water supply seems to stop being dripped onto the pad, despite the tank being nearly full. So I end up with two wet stripes being left behind but nothing else. If I try again next day it works again for a while then stops.

    • Have only used the mopping function once so I can comment. Out of curiosity, are you meant to pre soak the mopping pad?

      • I don't and it seems to start working right away, as I said my problem is it drying out when the tank is still nearly full.

    • I'm not sure how you are assigning the mopping tasks but for me, as my house is mixed floorboards and carpet, I use the "specify the room" tab and assign the 5 sections I need it to mop. It's be working fine with the mopping, although it's a very dry mop, so a few seconds and the water it leaves behind dries. The first time I used it, I noticed that it wasn't mopping at all, and that's because I didn't have the mop inserted properly. You want to make sure it says "switching to mopping mode". Also I wonder if during the mopping maybe the mop gets slightly dislodged due to some obstacles?

      • Yeah thanks, it's definitely in mopping mode.

Mine starts off like yours but quickly reverts to just leaving two lines behind, under wjere the outlets are.

Think mine may be faulty, will test a few more times and if it doesn't resolve will ask for a replacement.

        • Hey, I've just noticed mine doing the exact same thing. It only leaves 2 lines behind when moping. I've even tried wetting the whole mopping pad prior to starting but it soon dries up and leaves only 2 lines behind. Did you chase this up with the rep? Or have any solutions?

  • New firmware released. Anyone updated and can comment?

    • Nothing new showing for me. Currently on 1.7.4_2168 since a few days ago.
Maybe one of us is lagging?

      • I’m on the same as you. No update

        • I got an update 2 days ago but same level as above.

          • @FreeMike: Ok, so I am the one lagging. Wonder why it only just showed up. At least I know you are all using it without issues. Tried to update but it doesn't get past 0%

  • Mine is offline and cannot reconnect. Pretty useless as I could have done the job myself with the amount of time I have wasted. Rep what is the proceeds involved to return? Regards David

    • When mine was saying "offline" I rebooted it by power off/on and it came back.

This is a different issue to when everything just times out - which I think is a server issue, rebooting doesn't fix that.

    • Weird. Mine isn't having any of these issues and I use it daily?

  • One thing I discovered is for those with multiple maps, you don't need to move the charger (unless to recharge of course).

All you need to do is move the vac and select the right map.

After you start it its spins around and figures out where it is in the map, I guess using the contours of the room, pretty cool. Of course at the end it tries to return to where the charger should be, but then you can just take it back to the charger, switch maps and hit recharge.

Its a clever beast, just need it to be reliable*, fix the mop not getting enough water and ideally fix the sunlight issue.

*No reliability issues for me today.

    • how did you fix the mop issue ? and sunlight issue, saw video the other day ?
      I just pulled the trigger

      • Sunlight issue still exists. Mop issue I am sure is isolated as mine works perfectly fine.

        • Yeah, I think the mop issue is down to mine being faulty.

Rep - how do I arrange a replacement water tank as mine is not working?

I also agree the sunlight issue is a genuine problem, hope they can fix it in software, doesn't affect me much as I tend to let it run overnight.

          • @FreeMike: You can request water tank by email.

  • +1

    Hi Rep,
This week I contacted the phone on the website multiple times during the week (only to be diverted to a mobile number who did not answer), emailed twice and still have not gotten any response from the team.

Can you please contact me? I have sent you a PM with my details. I purchased two units and one of them is not attaching to the charging dock. The other one is working perfectly.

    Please help!

    • I had a similar issue with mine, and realised it had to do with how the dock was placed. In a carpeted room, having the dock sitting flush on the skirting board didn't allow the robot to dock and charge. So I had to reposition it so it was sitting flush on the flat side of a book case. Hope that makes sense. It might not be your issue, but thought I'd share.

      • Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately for me it's a faulty charging dock as I tested in on another unit I bought. Rep has made contact so hopefully can get a solution soon. Thanks again

  • +2

I have tested the S7 for two weeks now running it multiple times over different floors. The first time I ran a full clean, the history and the map were not saved immediately. They only showed up the morning after as some posts have mentioned as well.

However, since then I did a map reset and I have run several full cleans on different floors. Each clean showed up in history but none of the maps was ever saved, which means I can't use the advanced mapping feature on the other floors! I only have that one map from the first full clean. It refused to save any more maps.

Op, if this is a server issue it is pretty bad. I think a lot of people have complained about this as well. Will it help if I email them directly (what's their support email address)?

    • If you email them will help and explain in detail, server issue need to fix by them, they promise to do that. Please try to clean first floor from dock and finish at dock. I have passed my suggestion to 360, hope they can fix this shortly.

      • +2

They accepted my suggestion to manually save map and will update in the future. Will update with time frame once they find out.

        • That would be extremely handy and a good feature to have while they are sorting out the server issue. Thank you very much for your help. Yes please share the time frame with us once you find out.

        • +1

Since they're listening to suggestions, a small suggestion (because it annoys me), get them to change:

Specify the room Whole-house cleaning Specify the area

          to

          House | Room | Area

That way all text fits on screen and doesn't have to scroll, thereby you can actually read what each mode is without clicking on it.
That's not to say you can't tell which mode is which with the current text, it's just that it looks really unpolished.

  • Hi,
We do not have an Android device in the house (only iPhones). Will it still be possible to operate this vacuum cleaner with an iPhone / PC / any other non-Android way?

    • +1

I use my iPhone to operate this. Download the app from the App Store and jobs done

      • Thanks!
