  • Bought this for $777 few days ago from The Good Guys. Didn't purchase their concierge service. Can price difference be claimed?

    • Even if you paid $798 like we did before black friday, it's an absolute bargain.

They're a good fridge and it shows you dont need to pay $1700+ to get a good fridge.

    • I'd just go in and ask them. They have been nice enough to do so in the past for me.

  • We saw this deal but ended up going with the GB-445PL. The 445UPLE is 3.5 energy rating vs 4.5 (almost 100kw/year diff)

    • I was thinking the same!

    • The GB-445PL is $79.17 to run per year.
300kWh/year at market rate of 26.39c per kWh.
The 445UPLE is $102.38 per year.
      388kWh/year at 26.39c

Total difference is $23.21 per year difference between models.

This excludes any electricity discounts, concessions etc.

The price difference is $350 between models now.

This will take you 15 years to recoup the savings

You just got sucked into the Australian Energy Star rating system. I'm sorry but in 15 years you won't have this fridge.

      • +1

Yeah except I'm a bit conscious of using more energy than I need to, especially when it's using 30% more.
I rather in 15 years there is still acceptable climate conditions than saving $220 ( I bought mine for $990 ).

        • -1

Then dont use a fridge. It's the number 1 appliance which is on 24 hours 7 days a week.

Use an Esky, get rid of the air-conditioners, get rid of the multiple devices (TV, PC, Laptop, Tablet) and have one such as a mobile which does everything. This will amount to bigger savings than niggling on a $23 per year saving which you won't recoup.

Niggling on 88kWh per YEAR won't benefit the environment.

I'm sure the people who worry about energy won't do any of that!

You won't find energy savings in fridges.

  • Does harvey norman do take away your old appliances? I can't seem to find information from HN

    • Bought F&P 10kg washing machine from HN in last deal. They delivered on Sunday and refused to remove my old washing machine.

    • You'll need to opt for their premium delivery. My guess is it should be an additional $75.
