Nu-Tec in-Desk Power Hub w/ USB-C PD 30W & Surge Protected Power Outlets $10 @ Bunnings

4660

Saw this at Bunnings Bankstown Airport (NSW) plenty of stock left.

Update: Confirmed at other locations (VIC, ACT, WA etc). Should be nationwide.

Update 2: $5 at some stores

Update 3: Stock level (not live, can be inaccurate, use as guide only) checker by Delca (Huge thanks) on Google Sheets

Update 4: a more streamlined table by clear and plague69 stock checker

Has 4x surge protected mains outlets, 2x USB chargers (2.4A) and USB-PD 30w port. Can also be used on a desktop laying flat against the table. I think it's a steal for $10! Good hunting!

@OMG Bargain: gave them the barcode number 9329474046378

@jaj024: Thanks found a few left at Belrose NSW for anyone still interested in them.

  • Just picked up 8 of these for $5 each at Nerang was still a few left. Got them to price match using a receipt.

  • How useful is the board overall? I am struggling to see really easy way to set it up. The direction of the cable is making it hard to set it up on my desk! And I want to get it for $2 now as well:) OZB spirit $10 no DEAL!

    • Was surprised how popular this Deal is. The specs (powerboard + 30W USB-C) are great for the price.

But the design is awkward to mount other than fitting a hole in a desk etc.

I glued magnets on the back & installed upright on a filing cabinet & a microwave, with USB end up & sitting over the top. Works well. Returning my 3rd one.

      • I'll try, but sure the design is awkward!

      • I know what you mean. The design forces one to get all creative n shit - & not necessarily in that order..

        • +1

There are many better outlets for creativity. I've scrounged many items, using them for different purposes.

It was designed for a specific use. Hoping others will come up with interesting mods.

In that vertical orientation above, I use the cable management as a holder for the air conditioning remote.

I earlier suggested the cable management could be cut off. It might not look pretty, but the unit could sit flat. The cut should not affect anything & is in the low voltage area. I'm waiting for for the correct security bit before opening it up.

Otherwise on top of a desk etc, the cable management end can sit over an edge.

@INFIDEL: I considered cutting it down earlier but then came up with a different idea. I have 6 of these units so will be arranging them in 3 pairs with the power cable of one unit passing through the cable management of the other and vice versa so the two usb sections are at apposite ends and the mains outlets are back to back. This is a PERFECT solution for me. I can then fit it to the inside of the back of my office desk and have every socket fully usable and easily accessible.

It took a bit of thinking but then simply clicked! I hope others find their power board nirvana.

              @Lps: Good ideašŸ’”
Hadn't thought of combining units! An elegant & simple solutionšŸ‘
Picking up the unit, your solution seems so obvious, now! (I don't have the need for so many outlets at 1 place, so I would never have considered it.)

Sharing ideas might stimulate other solutions.

@Lps: No longer returning my 3rd unit - now attached to another as you suggested. Works well!

May widen cable management slot so ends of Powerboard fit in - shortening length. Will partly cover reset buttons (still accessible), but almost never had to use those.

  • Picked one up from Baldivis WA, approx 40 in stock, but only 2 on end of row, isle 46 north end i think. $10

  • Went looking for this without any luck and ended up walking out with a 6 power outlet version albeit only USB-C PD 15W for the same price.

  • Iā€™ve managed to price match at Innaloo store WA. Told them I saw it on ozbargain that Melville store was selling for $5 and they happily price matched. Went there just before closing time today and saw maybe 5 left.

Found 3 boxes of this at the Bunnings in Browns plains in the electrical section.

Bunnings Belambi definitely had at least two boxes worth. They were with lighting. I'm a whimp so I didn't ask for one half price, so $10 for me.

  • Awesome. They even had some at my local - and I can never get the deals you guys post! (Nowra)

  • Fits well with my Ikea table. So much better. Thanks OP

Carseldine Brisbane, 5:30pm 22 in stock. Section manager gave me price match/reduction to $5.
Located in main walkway, between row 35/36 on upper shelf.
Also compact rotatable adaptor with 1 usb C 3A 15w and 1 std usb $3.
Located on very last verticle display within row 38, approaching back of store.

  • Narellan, NSW. Picked up 4 boards (2 for a friend) marked down to $7. Online stock went down from 20 to 16, however no one (staff and myself) could locate any more.

Has anyone confirmed it delivers 30W via the USB-C connector?

    • +1

I believe that it does, yes. I plugged a laptop into it and received a warning that it was receiving 30w of the 45w that it actually needed haha

My LG phone picks it up as "fast charging" when a normal socket will just display "charging"

      • Thanks for confirming that, DannersAU. Good to know it lives up to its claim. And yes, my mobile phones charge much faster (but draw a max of 15W, so I can't test the 30W claim with them).

        • +1

XPS 13 here. Charges just as well as the original 45w charger.
